daddylonglegs
Maybe.... I see the pattern change on the GFS this morning...looks like April 25th and after should turn mild, although probably more like normal for that time period... we'll see. The NAEFS looks the same again this morning...west ridge/trough east.
SchaumburgStormer
The Great Lakes are the new fridge/freezer of the country it seems. Shame that wasn't here last November, and December, and January
mjwise
Surprise surprise. The 12Z Euro too punts warmth to sometime just past D10, again.
BowMeHunter
Hard to believe summer is still almost a month and a half away. Neutral-Enso predicted for this summer. were the last two summers neutral also? Another torch and boring summer? I read in the SNE thread a few days ago that the euro monthlies are cool for summer.. that could just be for the east though.. Harry, have you seen the summer monthlies for the great lakes? If so could you give your analysis of them, Thanks much! I hope we're not blowing our cool load early and setting up for another scorcher/boring summer.. I guess at least it won't be starting until at least May this yr and not like last yr in Morch.

daddylonglegs
Long range continues to look like **** ... 60F might not be in reach this month...6z GFS shows something popping up a week from now, but the Euro shows another cold shot...
frostfern
Lovely. Cold boring NW flow and spring "clippers" as far as the eye can see. Next thing we need is an upper low to park itself over the northeastern US for the entire month of May. :axe: :axe:
Geos
You would think things would warm up with a +AO, +NAO, -PNA, but I guess the same rules in winter don't apply in spring.

BowMeHunter
Alot of the so called "cold" has been through huge inversions. In otherwords, a bit misleading......... Looks like another western trough will develope between the 23-25 than another around the 30th, though weakened obviously as the season progresses. Need to collapse ridge in pacific if you want a more summery pattern. lol.. you live in the tropics where tree's are leafed out and Buckeye has been mowing lawns for 2 weeks now. frostfern
Fake cold: Fake. It's just a temperature inversion. I'm sure there's a warm anomaly somewhere in the stratosphere. Nobody lives on the ground anyways.
daddylonglegs
I'm looking at the Euro through 240 and its showing 2 days of near normal (week from now) for this area and it takes us back into the freezer day 9-10...

michsnowfreak
March was the 10th warmest of all time...............globally. It is all about the backyard. Imagine that? Discussing ones backyard on a weather forum! (Though when the cold in other parts of the globe was discussed during our Morch last year, it was quickly dismissed). I will say it makes sense now...the warm weather you've been saying is on the way for the past 3 months has arrived........globally.
