earthlight
The west/northwesterly flow is a big win almost every time in this area. There should be a bit of a temperature gradient north of NYC, but from the city on south I think 80+ is highly likely...all the way to central LI. Quincy
Low 70's all over the Hudson Valley as of 10 a.m. Not bad at all for early/mid-April!
Weathergun
I thought the "launching pad" myth was debunked years ago? This is considering what conditions are likely to be present. For most of the day, we are just sunny and dry, with downsloping winds.

JBG
I thought the "launching pad" myth was debunked years ago?Debunked in what way? We all know there can be huge temperature rises in one day, particularly at this time of year. Still a higher minimum temperature helps.

Stormlover74
Debunked in what way? We all know there can be huge temperature rises in one day, particularly at this time of year. Still a higher minimum temperature helps. I think he meant the 10 degree rule of adding 10 degrees to the 10am temperature to get your high. Some days it will work assuming a 2 degree temperature rise through 3pm. But other days of course it won't be applicable. Today should work as I expect most of interior NJ to get into the mid 80s (EWR and TEB both up to 77 now)

Kaner587
these strong downsloping winds almost always overperform wrt temps even to the coast. Although wouldn't be surprised if the beaches stayed in the 60's everyone else should make it to at least mid 70's with 80's elsewhere and maybe even mid 80's. SnoSki14
Just a torch. It's amazing how we struggle to generate -10 or lower departures but can easily string up double that or more for days in a row like nothing. Global Warming FTL, looks like more 80s or higher next week as well on the gfs.
