I've walked on top of 12" glacier snow on the road between Ontonagon and the porkies on Mother's Day before.  I can't imagine Twin Lakes being completely free of snow before then definitely.  Although, all the new snow that's fallen won't have the staying power against the soon to be April sun like the older snow will.

Looks like the cam is frozen. Does this happen very often?

It updates hourly I think. Also, it takes its last shot at dusk and returns after the sun comes up. If you arrive at their office around 5-6pm, they will let you get setup infront if the snowman for a last shot of the day.

I'll say May 9th.  There's definitely more than the average natural depth in that bank.  Last week I was snowshoeing up to 1700' east of Lake Superior up in Northern Ontario and the maximum average depth was probably 50" with the top foot being relatively powdery still at that time.

This is the ranger station at 1300' elevation.

Banks 65''.
