Clinch Leatherwood
2nd band to watch is well south of MVY. That's trying to shoot straight north now. FWIW we have some nice flakes falling but it's back up to 34 so just damp roads.
Clinch Leatherwood
One aspect of the NAM and derivatives that's so stunning. HTF can those models not see the band on the Jersey shore all day? ARW/NMM, NAM had zero clue. That's just so awful.

meteorologist
Could you refresh my memory? Is it usually very poor with Norlun and Inverted troughs? Take a look at: http://weatherknowledge.com/etcetera.html and go to the "RESEARCH PAPERS, REPORTS & ARTICLES" section. There are 4 items re Norlun troughs.. Patrick-02540
Mostly sunny here now. Looking out towards the Vineyard, I don't see a cloud in the sky. Last NWS advisory said heaviest precip 8pm to 2am. So I guess I'm not too worried. Had my finger on 3 inches for mby for two days now and I'm sticking with it. Nice radar blow-up/consolidation last couple frames SE of LI... heading our way...
educate
um....seems to me you said a general 3-4 would fall with some 4-6 showing up....no? Yup guess some were thinking WSW stuff. This winter has spoiled some. It's late March. It's a norlun. Last year it was in the 80's on this date

Looks like it's about stopped and should slink east now as clouds/precip fills back in. But it juts ate my precip and lower clouds here.

powderfreak
And some will see those amounts. Congrats and enjoy What an absolutely ridiculous winter for Tolland, lol.... I just pulled up the radar to see what was going on, and sure enough, guess where the band seems to be parked. Right over Tolland County. This band is setting up right where the highest snowfall amounts have fallen so far this season relative to normal, lol. Amazing how if there is snow in SNE this season, you can bet this exact axis is getting in on the action.
