Some peeks of sunshine this morning, but clouds still rule...  Looks like Thursday before we see 40Fs again.

One nice thing i'm seeing is very light winds in the forecast, which should make it feel warmer with late March sunshine.

50F possible by Sat.

Some models runs are spitting out crap loads of rain for next week.  Man I hope not.  We would have problems

Here's a pretty remarkable before and after shot taken March 27, 2012 and March 25, 2013. Tulips were fully bloomed and leaves out. This year no buds and tulips haven't popped out of the ground yet!

NICE!!  That's the kind of contrast I was looking for.  Really kicking myself for not taking pics last March.

Hmm...

+14 versus -5 ....

For my location, its the difference between Gaylord, MI and Louisville, KY I would guess.

This March overall was meh, the definition of meh.  Cold, which is preferable only when there is a fair amount of snow.  Snowfall will come in around average, so nothing special, and endless cool and cloudy weather gets old for a month (and severe season around here probably won't start until late May at least thanks to lake breezes and cold water temps).  Hopefully April is more interesting.

Seems the largest negative anomalies are along and west of the Mississippi. Has anyone out there experienced a top 5 or better coldest march out that way. I'm mostly thinking La Cross might have had a top 5. This is the 2nd coldest March in the last 35 years in Lansing, second to 1984.

This March hasn't been bad for me. I've seen enough snow to keep me satisfied with this winter and not completely bored by this weather. The cold without much snow has kind of sucked but it's been kind of nice to have two colder-than-average months in a row which hasn't happened since March-April 2011. Snow has definitely been frequent enough, even if the largest snow I saw was 3.5" (and not even in Hamilton.) Hamilton's largest snowfall this month was a paltry 2.4".

The next 10 days looks painfully boring but I'm willing to wait if it means we get a good severe outbreak because of it. More than ready for spring at this point, the anticipation of warmer weather is definitely in the air.

Got back yesterday from my Northern Ontario trip.  TONS of snow along the east shore of Lake Superior.  30" depth right on the lake and 40-50" depth a few miles inland.

Here's sunset Friday night along the shore on the drive up to Wawa, Ontario.

Gorgeous photos. Thanks for sharing them. :)

I walked out on a snow vehicle or sled trial without putting my snowshoes on.  Could stay on top if I tiptoed but occasionally one leg or the other would fall in up to my hip like this.
