Guest Pamela
I measured 48.3" at Port Jefferson for the season. What the area's exact average is; that is hard to say. NWS Upton, 10 miles to my ESE, measured 51.8" this winter, and, according to their snow chart, their 67 year average is 31.67". Since I am a bit north of the office and at an elevation of about 100 feet higher, one might conclude my average is a fraction higher, but we do not have sufficient data to substantiate this... http://www.bnl.gov/weather/4cast/MonthlySnowfall.htm
Animal
Highland Lakes, NJ elevation 1415 ft I did not get to measure every storm. With that being said, I would estimate around 65 inches for the year using the data that I have on file and from local reports Cheers, Darkstar
nzucker
Central Park remains at 26.1" and that migyt be the final number...If you add the last 30 years counting this one the average is 26.1...it was an average winter...One of the few average winters NYC has seen recently. Interesting gradient though as I saw 52" which represents 140% of average just 25 miles to the north of Central Park. This winter fell short of historic but was really solid up here...great March and a cold and snowy November made it a long cold season.
