AirNelson39
Really coming down in Boone right now with about nickel sized flakes.
POWERSTROKE
If Raleigh NWS meant the Triad that is what they would have said. "Far northern peidmint" is not the Triad. Your right but cant tell some anything. Surry and stokes have delays but no ice anywhere. Most all roads totally dry. I rather schools delay than take a chance and kids get hurt. Local Yokel Wx
Up and down up and down, good lord they can't make up their minds down there. Nothing new. Every NW Flow event, even overunning events they will change it on avg 3 - 5 times right up to the event and even during.
LiQuiDBuD
I'd say NWFS is a real pain to forecast given the topography. Seems to me they can't be given too much of a hard time for revising totals.

Seems to me they can't be given too much of a hard time for revising totals. Not giving them a hard time, just saying its no surprise. We release our SNOWCAST Map about 24 hrs out, sometimes closer to the event. Its not a pain when you love the variability! lol. We love NWFS as they truly piss some folks off and have others dancing in their living room watching it come down. Lived in Downtown Sylva for 3 yrs and loved (and hated) to see the Plott Balsams go white with flurries downtown.
WilkesboroDude
Light snow and the Sun is trying to break through. Few patches of ice on side roads reported mostly in northern Wilkes.
HurricaneTracker
Yes indeed. We are all loving this. Speak for yourself. This -NAO stuff is awful in spring. Can't do much outside...and all the plants/shrubs/trees have pulled back from their wanting to bloom. They've all gone dormant again. Ugh.
Stovepipe
Funny seeing that it's absolutely pouring snow right now in the east TN valley. Understandable given the board demographics, but still funny.
NEGa
woke up to a small "dusting" (if you could call it that lol). off and on snow flurries this morning and cold. looks like yet another fairly blah winter winding down sigh

Stovepipe
Still coming down hard here. I'd say we have between a half inch and an inch at this point. Not bad for the valley in March.
AirNelson39
Around 3" here in Boone, side roads are covered in spots but main roads just wet.
superjames1992
It's snow flurrying!!! It would appear that there is some convective snow showers/flurries popping up around here. I'm surprised it's falling as snow with temperatures in the low 40s, but that it is. EDIT: Took a look at the radar and a 15-25 dbz snow shower is heading SE towards me. EDIT #2: Ah, missed me to the north.

superjames1992
Yeah, the wind today is howling. Gusts close to 40 MPH, if I had to guess. Wind-driven flurries = flizzards. Nice day today up at Snowshoe: http://www.snowshoemtn.com/live-cams.aspx Winterplace looks nice, too: http://www.winterplace.com/live_at_winterplace.php

CoolBreeze
Looks like winter itself is now winding down... (if you want to call it winter! ) Hats-off to WilkesboroDude and SuperJames for being up at 2 am to look for flakes - and then logging in to tell us about it !! Man, that is the definition of a snow-lover ! I wish I had been awake then to see the two flakes that probably fell here ! Beautiful pics from TN and the NC high-country. You've seen far more snow than the western Triad has seen this winter. Congrats !! Here's to next winter! Hopefully it will be better - it couldn't be much worse !!! The outside of my house is half painted right now since they started last week, but haven't been able to work since Thursday due to the cold. If it's not going to snow, I'd like a week of warmth real quick

I wasn't really up just to see the snow. I just don't have to get up until 9:30 AM, so I usually stay up that late, anyways.
