Snow_Miser
The warm layer is a bit further up in the atmosphere than that. Try the 850mb to 700mb layer. Yeah, that's probably where it set up. I don't have access to those charts, but I don't doubt that it set up there.
Ericjcrash
we have a nice little coating everywhere here in astoria. Haven't gone out to measure tho. How much do you think we got so far? 2"+ is better than a coating lol
hooralph
I have not seen a storm this year accumulate better in Manhattan out of the gate. So weird..
jm1220
More and more of it is becoming sleet now-looks like it's a wrap. The "mood snow" definitely worked out.
Snow_Miser
The dryslots have been killing us...we're in another one right now which is when I flipped over to all sleet. During bursts of heavier precip I've been mostly snow. Only about 0.7'' now. Yeah, looking at the radar loop they seem to really only occur over the SMQ area.. the MMU area hasn't seen anything like the drysolts we've consistently been getting. masomenos
Interesting dynamics with this storm around here. It was sleeting at a good clip in Alpine around 630, but down in southern Bergen it has been all snow.
