Whodey58 Posted March 15, 2013 Share Posted March 15, 2013 I have been reading some articles about the QBO and it appears that a -QBO tends to give more SSW and a +QBO tends to give fewer events. Also, the QBO is over the stratosphere, while SSW events are over the poles. I was wondering how the QBO can connect to the upper air flow over the polar regions and why some QBO phases tend to make more SSW events than others.
