mattie g
Yup. Number 72! Unfreakingreal. I love the long list of "wintry events" I have, but then you look at my total and think "WTF?"

WxUSAF
Unfreakingreal. I love the long list of "wintry events" I have, but then you look at my total and think "WTF?" DCA wasn't unique in having a record low accumulation per event. Most of the area was not even nickel-and-dimed (through Feburary), we were pennied and half-pennied. WVclimo
Looking at my Cocorahs reports, I have 18 days with measurable snow this season, and another 25 with a trace. Because the reports are based on a COOP day, submitted at 7:00 a.m., there weren't as many calendar days with snow, but still an inordinate number of days with frozen precip falling here this winter. KAOS
I am sure when it is 90+ degrees with ridiculous amounts of humidity....it won't be windy at all. If wind was snow we would have been buried last winter.
Bob Chill
Did a 10 mile bike ride with the kids. I will reluctantly admit that my hands got chilly. Still wore shorts though and enjoyed another cool spring day. Gonna do the tough leg of the Billy Goat trail tomorrow. It can be 10 degrees and I'll sweat on that hike. That hike should be on everyone's bucket list. Highly recommended. Some of the best views the Potomac has to offer and a very fun/technical hike to go along with it. You got my curiosity up, so I checked my CoCoRaHS On top of the 19 days with measurable, I've got 39 T's. That is 58 days with some form of snow/sleet. I've had a 12 day stretch (12/21-01/01) and a 10 day stretch (02/27-03/08) of recordable snowfall. Amazingly I'm still 3 inches short of normal though! (23.9 vs 26.9) 2004-05 - 2012-13 - Snow per Measurable Event (Mt. snowfan
Hopefully, we can have a day tomorrow without lots of afternoon clouds. Would love a sun filled day in the upper 50s. mattie g
Low clouds are burning off and the sun is flexing its muscles. I'm playing 18 this afternoon, so I hope the temps bust high and the wind eases off.
Bob Chill
Really nice hike on the billy goat yesterday. Weather was perfect, no crowds, and the river was clear and emerald green. Best of all my kids and my teenage daughters' friends had a blast. Nice to see them still enjoy the outdoors (and not mind spending time with mom and dad. LOL) I really cannot recommend the hike enough. Round trip is about 3 hours with plenty of time to stop and soak in the views.
