Benefit of March snow: It snows, then the snow goes away.

Have to disagree with you on this one.  One of, if not the, most important aspects of my "winter performance criteria" is the presence of a totally frozen landscape.  That's why I even enjoy freezing rain (light amounts).  That's why I thought Mar 6 was such a letdown.  Even though it snowed 11.5 inches that day, by 9 am the destruction of the frozen landscape was underway.  I like seeing falling snow, but what I most like is a snow AND ice covered landscape.  All winter long.  I don't ever want a warm day in the winter.  Ever.  I hope the sun doesn't shine from Nov 15 to Mar 15.  Grey, dark, cold, frozen.  That's my idea of winter.

Now, on March 26, I don't want any more winter.  It's time to move on to the next season.

Agree completely (well, except for the freezing rain bit).  Others may get their fun from seeing the snow fall, but for me it's all about having snow around.  That's why it kills me to see snow falling, but not sticking.  Seeing snow melt actually depresses me.  I'd trade a 6-inch snow that stays on the ground for two weeks for a 2-foot storm that melts away in a few days - in a heartbeat.

Expectations change in March, so quick melts don't have the same impact on me as they do during the rest of the season.  This has been an exceptional March, but if it wants to continue snowing I'll happily enjoy it.

I like snowcover in winter, but at this time of year I'm all about things greening up and coming to life.  But I don't like extended snowcover - even in winter.  I'm happy with a week or so of snow on the ground, but beyond that I can do without it.  Snow piles get dirty, things get crunchy, and it starts to feel like spring will never arrive.  I need sun, too, which generally means that snowcover takes a hit around here. That said, if snowpack gets freshened up in January or so, then I won't complain too much.  But the reality is that we very rarely have a snowpack that gets refreshed, so that's really a non-starter.

I'm absolutely dying for spring right now.  I planted a s**t ton of onions this past weekend, and it really got me in the gardening mood...

WinterWxLuvr, sounds like you need to move 1 1/2 hours west, that describes them perfectly.

Agree 100% with you EastCoast NPZ, winter can stay as long as she wants, we making up A BIT for last years disaster of later winter/early spring (aka torchy summer). Still have bands of flurries and light snow swinging through this afternoon. :)

Too bad Whitetail is closed with all this snow:

Maybe we should rent some dump trucks and bring it down our way.

Fake snow is terrible. Some of the New England resorts (especially northern NE) will push 70 inches for the month. I imagine the slopes will be packed this upcoming Easter weekend.

Timberline has $1 skiing on Easter Sunday, and they have 3 feet of snow in the trees.  I can't imagine ever wanting to go to Whitetail.  Then again, from my house, Timberline is only about 45 minutes farther away.

It has been delightful....plenty of time for 90s with 70 degree dew points....we have generally been mostly in a warm pattern from April 20th to October 20th or so...I don't think a -2 to -3 March after a mild winter is going to kill anyone..

It has been a great month, and if it had been 5 degrees colder March 6, it would have been historic.

I was out in shorts all afternoon. Yea, had to wear a sweatshirt but still. If you can't enjoy outdoor time with these seasonal temps then maybe you should just pull up your sissy fruity pantz, put on a fuzzy sweater, and sip some wine you can't pronounce while eating foot cheeze in a french restaurant somewhere.
