ORH_wxman
Man one signal the euro had..Fully saturated at 700mb for like 36hrs. Classic signal. That was one of the reasons I stayed bullish when the 00z Mar 7 run got a bit SE on qpf...I didn't really get it because it was still showing a huge firehose going into SE NH and southward. That run scared me a bit, but the models often do funky things with QPF...esp in anomalous setups.

That run scared me a bit, but the models often do funky things with QPF...esp in anomalous setups. That was there..I probably should have said that to you..but yeah a good signal I remember. Still needed to work out other things locally, but that was a good signal for at least the hills. BTW, euro 925mb temps were maybe -0.5 to -1C for the DC bust. Red Flag. CoastalWx
Any analogs to this storm? Or post-event comparisons? 4/97? With this storm? I cannot think of one in terms of how a second s/w caught up and help pulled the moisture back west. Basically a 1000 mile long firehose. In terms of storms with deep layer easterly flow, 12/92 and 4/97 come to mind.

ROOSTA
Any analogs to this storm? Or post-event comparisons? 4/97? CIPS had Feb '81 as it top. 10-20" dumpage with almost identical setup. Was going to post it but some funky gremlin for some reason is making it a pain to post so instead of closing re-opening the browser I just moved on to captivated reading, play by play with Will and Scott disecting. I don't know about anyone else but I'm already sleep deprived. Bad weekend to move the clocks ahead.
Amped
So what is this storm. Miller B? Hook and Ladder? Norlun? The Great Atlantic Low 2? It tracked well SE of The Benchmark so it wasn't a usuall hit.
TheSnowman
12" Amounts or Greater in the December 29th Bombogenisis Storm, Blizzard of 2013, and the RI Super Screw Snowstorm of 2013. HoarfrostHubb
Crazy to think areas just to my south have had two >= 2' snowstorms this winter.I think I believe the Quincy total. Parts of Quincy are hilly. Wonder where the report was from
CoastalWx
I think I believe the Quincy total. Parts of Quincy are hilly. Wonder where the report was from That's a big difference for an area mostly less than 200' in elevation, but it does reaffirm my guess what I got, but I'm not gonna inflate. Plus they are slightly east of me with some more marine influence.
SJonesWX
Best prediction of the entire storm was an angry Mayor Menino. He's saying they couldn't call it off because the predictions were so bad they hadn't called off and because of working families they don't like to call off at 5am. I actually respect that... he's an a$$. why can't they call off school in the morning? every school district does it, regardless if the families work. got the call at 5:15 am here. it is extremely rare to get the call the night before
Damage In Tolland
Man Ryan won't like this..he was adamant that it wasn't shadowing and he also said he knew BOX would use that as the excuse . Cold Miser
Not sure where that "Brooklyn, CT" measurement is taken to get 11.5 from the NWS, but I am in the higher spot in town, and measured 13 for the 2 days.
Cold Miser
I'm assuming this storm won't have a name given to it, since it wasn't a true noreaster or such? Another reason the winter storm naming systme is moronic.
