I did not think us flat landers would fair nearly this well.

Although there 2 signs yesterday that caused me to be hopeful.

The wind here was out of the due north all day and the wind at UConn where I work was from the east all day, made me think there was something interesting possible and also, the fact that looking at radar during the afternoon, it snowed here all afternoon.  While it did not stick, it kept the temperature right around 33 degrees so when it kicked in last evening it did not have too far to go.

Using an eyeball estimate, there is at least 10 inches out there.  Not snowing too hard now -  hopefully more to come before it is over.

wtf with manchester and glastonbury ct the past few years...so sick of it

apparantly the firehose cannot penetrate the lower valley...light snow for hours 5 to 6 inches..big deal when places ten to twenty miles away are a foot plus

That's better than the inch we have here 10 miles north

so Scooter is that band over you going to pivot S over me or will it fizzle out? My thought is that it will pivot through. This stuff is awesome right now and would love to see tis last through noon. It's been snowing for 31h+ straight now. Maybe make a shot at 36h.

I think it will slowly sink south, but may weaken a tad. Winds will turn more NE aloft.

Yeah but he was in slightly better echoes. That band to your east is right on the line for you. Should make it in I think.

I think elevation helped too.  He's closer to me and a couple hundred feet higher and I had 11.5-12.5" across my yard.  I saw that yesterday driving home as the portion over 1000' had a couple more inches and the roads were snow covered and they were just starting to here.  Even a few hundred feet below me was a little different.

Either way,I'm enjoying this one!

Yeah under 700 feet yesterday made a huge difference. and below 500 feet most of the new snow yesterday had melted. 800 feet it was sticking to rds  the 700-800 foot area is generally the magic area I've noticed over the years

Already 11" down and absolutely crushing heavy 1/4 sm SN+ at least 2"/hr type stuff right now. The plow goes by and instantly the road is covered behind it.

RAP has this band over the area until around 17Z. We may push 15-18" here, amazing. I thought my 6-12" call was aggressive but guess not, firehose ftw.
