Mesoscale banding..nothing more..nothing less

i gotta get out of here..i really dont know how much more i can take of this

all those dark hours wasted on light snow while all around just got crushed, its great snow too, effficiently accumulated for the intensity and all but it just did not come down hard

watch it will snow hard around ten am when it wont efficiently accumulate

it was plenty cold enough overnight aloft and at the surface too

i wonder if when this winter is all wrapped up if anyone is going to tell the truth about how some areas just got climo and other places ten or fifteen miles away almost doubled climo

Problem was you wasted hours and hours yesterday with a torched bl.  Last night we were at 3-4" on the hill while Amherst still had wet roads.  The bands help of course, and there did seem to be some hesitance pushing into the valley... was backbuilding a bit despite the generally west push, but all the same we got under it for a while, just with lesser results.

I think you did pretty well all things considered. Would you rather be in RI with 1-2 inches of dryslot?

You did better than the valley in CT too.

At least down here we didn't miss much yesterday. After the morning snow and during the day we only had 0.07" liquid of snow that didn't accumulate.

Looks like 6 or 7 out there in Btown.

Yeah, lower valley doing much better than up hear.  Maybe 3"  with -SN atm.

Franklin and N Berkshire Co. were too far N &W to get any of the heavy banding.

If you look at the 5:30am updated snowfal reports on the NWS Box site you can see there are hardly any reports from Franklin Co and none from Berkshire. Very few school closings across ethier county.

Anyone thinking of skiing Berkshire East today don't expect "epic",  report from Heath is only 4" so far.

i get the getting crushed at your elevation and in worcestor...i used to see it in wolcott ct when i lived in bristol

but what is so great about manchester ct?? and i know its true bc i have friends that live there and know how much i love snow so they dont bs me

manchester crushed in the both big jan 2011 events too

and as far as the down in ct goes...they will likely make up for it this morning plus they had five to seven more in the blizzard in most of those places if not more plus they had early november etc

SNE winter...scoring in our NNE pattern. lol

The reverse psychology worked out again... "I think we are done for a while while NNE gets a few storms..."

What an epic SNE winter.  The SNE winter jackpot zones of Tolland/ORH hills may actually beat me in snowfall this year (down at 750ft) as I think this will put them ahead... but I guess missing just about every synoptic storm and a 30+ inch blizzard may have something to do with that.

Widespread areas of darkness turning into widespread areas of low clouds up here right now.
