kevin1927
Not really accumulating that much. Intensity is light and the ground temps are marginal. Same, but down to 30F now and the sun has set. Heavier band looks to be moving in from off the water shortly.
powderfreak
This storm should have some widely variable snowfall reports... if you are clearing a board every 6 hours (starting last night/early this morning) and adding them up in these long duration marginal events, you may be able to get double the snowfall of what you actually have on the ground when the storm ends, lol. I'd recommend everyone finds an elevated wooden surface and measure then clear each 6 hours and add them up (j.spin style)...we'll get some solid totals over 36 hours that way. bch2014
Seeing mention of Dorchester. Is snow sticking on Morrisey Blvd? There was a little bit of a dust in between lanes and such, but I don't really consider that "snow sticking".

wxeyeNH
Snow has ended up here. If the NAM is right this is about it. If the GFS is right we have 4" more to go. Looking at the radar the NAM has the right idea. 1" or so storm total

That's my plan, I'm going to set up a board when I get home, that way my report for NWS is accurate, I was not confident in the one for the bilzzard but sent it in with a disclaimer, they took it, but I want it to be right... -skisheep

powderfreak
I'm going to clear off my picnic table after 6" should be soon. Cool... yeah this has the feel of a storm where someone can get 18 inches of actual snow falling from the sky but only have 10-12" on the ground at the end. Measuring and wiping clean will take care of that settling, compaction, and melting that occurs over time.

Snow Bow
Getting lucky with banding overlapping in the hills, sort of visible on the dual-polJust got radarscope the other day, wish I did a long time ago. climate.cod only has looping for a hand full of sites across the country so it's nice to have dual-pol loops now. You could probably end up with over 6" there if things go decently. Picked a good spot to move. Thinking 3-5 does it for me but we'll see.

codfishsnowman
over the last hour and a half we are down to 33 degrees..even the roads are starting to get a little slushy..the ground is rewhitened, cars etc and its snowing at a decent clip..its 615pm so the way i see it we have til around 9am tomorrow morning to pile it up provided decent or better rates...so easily 15 hours of prime accumualting time...so if this indeed turns into a firehose..should be no problem getting at least several inches even here in the valley
