96blizz
It's like the NAM is picking us up off the ground to simply just punch us in the stomach again... Monster here.

96blizz
This might exceed 6 inches on this run. This might exceed 18" in some places in NJ. Again, it's the NAM and might crush us again. Heisy
Since I've been in VA I haven't been paying attention up north, what is up with this weird feature on the NAM from 36-48 hrs? Its dropping 6+" in SE NY. Is that a norlun trough?
IntenseBlizzard2014
This might exceed 18" in some places in NJ. Again, it's the NAM and might crush us again. Remember, the Euro had such a small amount w/ the trough!!! BTW, the EURO is greatly underestimating the precip amounts, but the NAM is overdoing it. I'd lean closer to the NAM while being in-between both solutions.
easternsnowman
What a cutoff at the PA/NJ line. Parts of NJ could see 3 or 4" and the Lehigh Valley/Poconos might not see a flake! Local philly mets on television (good forecasters) said all along it won't be snowing till evening and did'nt have much snow for the LV or Poconos. 96blizz
The PROBLEM for me is that the NAM and other short range models are really in their LONG range w/ regards to the trough. We all know how that played out w/ the NAM. Insanely cautious optimism is necessary w/ this run. Earthlight, are their recent analogs with a feature like this and how it was modeled? Seems like it's a tough thing to model...
MJO812
Ya'll gonna get NAM'd again. When even its own creators disregard it, something is very very wrong. It's 27 hours out. You can't just throw this out.

Chaser25973
OK, I got it now. Be prepared for snow for the next 36 hours which could fall at any time and might not accumulate or might give us Warning criteria. I love how we can put a man on the moon, but we can't even forecast 12 hours out. Maybe I should be less impressed with us putting a man on the moon. Interesting I'm still cautious about this. um, it's the NAM, it has been known to bust horribly within 6 hrs... Not all the time. It nailed this storm's convective features for this morning.
