Down to 28 at UGN, hopefully we can drop a few degrees in the next few hours. 31 here.

I was just glad to get under freezing.  Rip City downtown with skies actually getting a darker look to them now with some nice returns pushing in from NW IN and the lake.

Got out for a nice run at lunch time today - side roads were slushy - main roads just wet- In the past 2 hours - snow had begun to really accumulate on side roads. Temps have fallen back from 34 to 32 IMBY. Like others are reporting - flake size is small - but it's piling up pretty good.

Getting somewhat "dangerous" on the side streets...just got home from running errands. Looks really nice out there, now that I'm home.

Glad I didn't bail on this storm.

:weenie:

Phew. I thought you drew your blinds and went to bed or something.

Enjoy it. You never know how many more chances we'll get down here.

LOT update

LATEST WATER VAPOR IMAGERY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON INDICATES THAT THE
MID LEVEL LOW IS DROPPING SOUTH-SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS SOUTHERN IOWA.
MEANWHILE...THE LATEST PROFILER DATA ALONG WITH VWP WINDS...INDICATE
THAT THE 700 MB LOW IS CURRENTLY MOVING JUST TO THE EAST OF KDVN. A
BAND OF MID LEVEL FRONTOGENESIS...ASSOCIATED WITH A DEVELOPING TROWAL
LIKE FEATURE...ALONG WITH STRONG DEFORMATION WITHIN THE LOWER LEVEL
INVERTED TROUGH IS SETTING UP THE HEAVY SNOW AXIS FROM WEST
NORTHWEST FROM NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS EAST-SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS
EASTERN ILLINOIS AND INTO INDIANA. THE MOVEMENT OF THIS SYSTEM WILL
ALLOW THIS BAND TO PIVOT ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON...LEADING TO A PROLONGED PERIOD OF FORCING ACROSS THE AREA
INTO THIS EVENING. THUS...SEVERAL ADDITIONAL HOURS OF MODERATE
TO...AT TIMES...HEAVY SNOW ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF
THE AREA FOR THE REST OF THE AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EARLY EVENING
HOURS. SNOWFALL AMOUNTS UP AROUND AN INCH PER HOUR STILL APPEAR
REASONABLE DURING THIS TIME. SNOWFALL REPORTS OF 3-6 INCHES HAVE
BEEN COMMON AS OF 2 PM ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHEASTERN ILLINOIS...TO AS
MUCH AS 7 INCHES ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL PORTIONS OF THE STATE. WITH AN
ADDITIONAL 3 TO 5 INCHES EXPECTED...AMOUNTS SHOULD TOP OUT IN THE 6
TO 10 INCH RANGE IN MOST AREAS
.
