haudidoody
4" in Springfield and nothing in Alexandria. Isn't Springfield just west of Alexandria? Is this just a west-east thing or an urban/suburban thing? It's all those things. I've seen it happen before... even the West End of Alexandria will get a few inches and we get slush. I'm watching baseball now... so no worries.
clskinsfan
Is there a destination out there that you know of? Like a Walmart parking lot or something? Because I will go for sure. You are 1 mile from skyline dr. Head up there if it isnt closed. If its closed head up there tomorrow morning. I am sure its heavy up on top of the mountains. I just passed 12" for the event. Bob Chill
1/2 mile vis with latest pulse. Hood of truck has 1.5. My temp has been 32.7 for a while. Seems low though. I replaced the battery in my wireless thermo. I can't imagine that would affect the accuracy. The next 4-6 hours are probably the best window for my area and places to the n-w of me. You can see the bands finally stacking in line w/ sw-ne tilt.
Terpeast
Dover radar filling in, pushing into DC area... looking great for N/W suburbs of DC. Hope Balt I-95 corridor flips before the stuff on Dover radar arrives.
mattie g
Just wiped an inch off the board. Going with 3.5" so far. Ina little lull, but radar looks good to the east.

SpringfieldSkins
4" in Springfield and nothing in Alexandria. Isn't Springfield just west of Alexandria? Is this just a west-east thing or an urban/suburban thing? Southwest of Alexandria depending on where you are. I have no idea why this is the case. I feel bad for folks that are 10 miles east of me (if that) and are reporting rain.

adelphi_sky
Good ole fashion rain here in Adelphi. What snow fell is now gone. One good thing about the possible bust is that I won't have to shovel any heavy wet snow.

midatlanticweather
Snow is accumulating on grass. Maybe up to 2 inches. It has been snowing well, but not doing great on piling up. I suspect that my temps have been fluctuating 33 - 35, but hanging around 34 most of the time.. even in heavy snow.
Gonzo
Don't like using the word, but it would appear that I-95, I-495 is literally the rn/sn dividing line. I'm maybe 2 miles south and west of both, and getting hammered. Folks 3 miles to my east seeing rain.
Ike
Well, I got a laugh when I went out to measure. With this, I think throwing in the towel. It's been fun tracking it and seriously, congratulations to those who verified.

Terpeast
I am looking forward to the flip from moderate rain to heavy rain. It's over for those within the city corridor. Well I have to admit that I'm a little surprised that the Balt city corridor is still rain. When we do a post mortem, I will look closely to see what exactly went wrong there compared to the i-95 corridor from DC southward into central VA. Hopefully I will learn something. ohleary
How much you got there about 3" ? Honestly my wife sent me that...when I left at about 5am, I had about 2-3 on the car so it's gotta be more...but it appears it's compacting so much because it's sopping wet. nzucker
I'm about ready to bail. It is what it is. Climo is a b**ch. Rain/wet 33 Why? The storm is just starting for DC...tons of heavy precip rotating in on DOX....and you have the pivot of the deformation band near RIC.

Doubtful it's too much more than that, if you go by other obs from around us. Those of us in Fairfax County who had a few inches as of 4-5:00 haven't gotten much more than an inch or so since then. We had a real lull for a few hours before the bands started rotating in.
