bdevil02
Heard a noise suspiciously like a transformer blow then lost power. But it came back on a minute later. Odd, since the grass barely is white.

josh
Despite radar, it is simply not even precipitating in DC. Still very confused. I was thinking the same here in Clarendon. been barely light snow for 25min, picking up slightly
Ike
wow, wasn't expecting that from your locale. It wasn't heavy or anything, but it's mixing in and it's washed a lot of the snow off my branches so far. Back to light flurries mostly now. Again, I seem to live in a weird little spot. NovaHoo
When you haven't seen legit snow in 3 years it's hard to gauge whether it's heavy/moderate/light. That said, I think I'd call this moderate snow with good sized flakes and darkening skies in Burke. And from the looks of radar we'll be in this for a while. #angstfreeobs
TalcottWx
If anyone se or east of me can tell me what is within the band when jt crosses the bay it would be great. If its not snow its time to storm full cancel

5speed6
I don't think it's actually snowing in northwest. I think somebody hired an army of little people with an ice machine to throw snowballs off the roof...

MN Transplant
Perfectly said, Hoo. Agree. Large flakes, but it isn't exactly pounding like you'd want for a 1-2"/hr rate (at least not at 33-34 degrees).

jbj5d
It can't be overstated just how hard this area is to forecast and plan for. Portions of the DMA are under a foot of snow, and others are in a driving rain storm. Some have seen snow for hours and not a trace to show for it, and some are approaching 3 inches. Not only forecasters, but for groups like OPM, etc to try and come up with a single policy/decision for the area is near impossible.
