snowfan
Yes. Dover radar looks sick. Thats the stuff we need to move back our way. Without any type of duration to these short bursts of snow, we're screwed.
MN Transplant
I will say...despite the lessening in intensity over the last couple hours, it never really changed to rain in Burke. Same. At least the lull seems to be over now. 34.1°

Don't see that being a problem. I mean look how solid the returns are. I like our odds the rest of the day. Pavement may stay pretty clear but we should be fine accumulation wise in general. TalcottWx
Looking at mesoanalysis the system still hasn't finished fully vertically stacking. The increase in banding over md is a result of 700mb fronto which is par for the course. Everything south over va is in the lower levels.

lsukev
Judging by the RAP, the energy transfer from the inland low to the coastal is almost complete and the new low will rapidly deepen over a period of three hours. Should really see the radar fill in in the next several hours, finally.
WVclimo
Wow 12:1 ratio? Best I could tell without doing a core sample. The snow actually was forming an inverted funnel on top of the 4" gauge. Checked against MRB also, and they had 0.28" liquid through 7 a.m.

Do you have a good resource where i can find a graphic of pressure tendencies across our part of the country? I'd be interested in seeing what stage we're at with the transfer. Herb@MAWS
Between onset of daylight and compacting it looks like estimated 1.5" on deck and maybe an optimistic 1" OTG, altho actual total snowfall so far could be slightly more. Have not seen any evidence of rain mixing in since awakening a little before 5am. Decent periods of snow moving through. A.M. low 32.4 High right now (7:55am) at 32.9. My sidestreet has lost it's slush, so just wet.

real
Drizzle changed back over snow in mid-town DC. Seems like its trying hard to stay snow, but no evidence yet its going to start accumulating anytime soon,
Demeter
Spotsylvania County, VA..........31 with 5.8" on the grass and snow board. Roughly about .64 melted. Confirmed, same near Fredericksburg, so far we have been in a sweet spot and have fought off the rain line. We're over performing way more than I expected. birdsofprey02
75-90% rain in Bel Air. Had dusting overnight, grassy areas still have snow. Heavier bands look like they are on the doorstep, but I'm still losing confidence in the rain/snow line.
