May have to take a ride to Snickers Gap on Rt 7, 1200 ft. Should be a nice scene tomorrow up there, but shenandoah natl park, would be awesome for this event 2-3K feet

I guess it would be a bit treacherous, but if you went up blue ridge mountain road from 7, it'd take you straight up to almost 1800 feet.

Is that even possible with such heavy wet snow. Doesn't it have to be blown around to qualify for a blizzard warning and not just be 35 mph sustained?.

I'm pretty sure it's just visibility and winds. But I could be wrong. I'm just a met ;)

NWS just took me from Heavy Snow tomorrow to Rain/Snow.  Thanks, LWX.  (Yes, yes, I know it doesn't actually matter.)

Edit:  However they did up the WSW precip total:

1100 PM EST TUE MAR 5 2013...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM ESTTHURSDAY...* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW.* ACCUMULATIONS...10 TO 14 INCHES...WITH THE HIGHER AMOUNTS ALONG THE BLUE RIDGE.
