ravensrule
We would need like 2 more winters lol No we don't we are at like 760 something days since our last 2" storm. Unless we get a miracle we will easily pass 1,000 days.

WNash
for those who don't have this link. go here http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/ click lwx and run the 200 loop. you can see the energy vacuum suck the life out of us as things got wrapped up near RIC. If you squint a little, it kind of has the look of something swirling down the toilet bowl
mdhokie
Yup. Some are trying to spin this but bottom line was that the mega rates and huge precip totals never materialized. We aren't even going to hit the Euro numbers. BWI 0.69 IAD 0.86 DCA 0.83 current precip totals

ravensrule
You blasted me this morning when I said no more snow but I was right. Yes I did, and you were absolutely right about it. I have to admit I was wrong and you were right. But you did say a lot of it out of frustration because you had nothing, but I had almost 2" before most of it got washed away. Bob Chill
well, looks like doxsuperdeathband fizzled to drizzle. Final straw. I'm out. I need to regroup and find a new hobby.
mdhokie
models overdid the northern extent of precip, and the total amount as well. They did nail the bullseye in western virginia and places west of IAD seem to have done decent. I bet the clown maps from the GFS verify pretty close, probably overdone by a couple inches. Fozz
If there's any upside to this storm, maybe, just maybe, this whole idea of naming snowstorms will be thrown in the trash heap that it belongs in. Or it's just wishful thinking from me........sigh
North Balti Zen
I will only start to feel better when I see BOS getting snow For three years now, the southern VA to Boston connection has been strong for snow. Boxing Day, ever and ever.

87storms
Even out past centreville a few miles is a slushy mess. Between heavy rates i feel like its a mix of rain and snow or the wettest snow I've ever seen. Was coming down well in centreville for a time though. ravensrule
For three years now, the southern VA to Boston connection has been strong for snow. Boxing Day, ever and ever. Now you can have a total meltdown, this is one of the most painful busts in my 37 years of living here. The only more painful one was I think it was 2001 and on Friday night they were calling for 12-18" here and at the last moment the storm went due east at ORF and we had sunny skies Saturday morning. 87storms
I can tell many of you weren't living here (or were too young) during March 2001. That was a bust for ppl that thought it would snow a foot the day after temps around 60 and a south wind. I didn't buy into that one like I did this one. I'd have to say this was worse. gymengineer
I'm glad I gave 60/40 odds on 4+" for us to my coworkers and mentioned the possibility of mix/change to rain. It really was last night's 0Z runs that ruined it because I was pretty nervous before that.
