Work now officially closed for the day (they previously had it delayed opening until noon with re-eval at 10am of weather).

Now let's hope some of those strong bands of snow can make their way to Frederick, MD. Near Ballenger Creek, it's been snowing constantly, but from my window I have seen no stickage to our walkway as of yet.

In 2001, the Ravens won the Super Bowl, we had a crappy winter, and we were supposed to get a big snowstorm on March 6 that ended up being all rain.

In 2013, the Ravens won the Super Bowl, we had a crappy winter, and we were supposed to get a big snowstorm on March 6 that ended up being all rain.

Did that really happen in '01?

8 inches of what?  I'm near IAD and have maybe 3-4 tops.

Really? I live in South Riding area which is like 5 miles from Dulles if that, and I only have 3 maybe 4"

From Ji's ridiculous other thread:

Don't think I have it in me to track another one. Enough heartbreak for a season, I'm ready for Spring.

You claim you've gotten 8" so far today, but you're heartbroken?

I'm a smuck who doesn't know anything, but I mean, it's going on 2 hours of steady snow here and it's not accumulating at all, really.   If it does this all day, I won't make 2 inches.

About to call time of death on it myself and just enjoy looking out the window at snow and a free day off.

One of the more aggravating rain snow mix lines ive experienced

"White Rain Express".....yuck

On side note wind really has increased here just had a 31 mph gust and although it was snowing lightly, looked like a blizzard for a few minutes as  the snow in the trees broke free and blew around. Snow totals all over the place within 20 miles of me, anywhere from 3 to 12 inches!?!?!

Too bad about the temps but the deform is setting up to the n-w of DC and will come through this afternoon.  Will at least get most everyone white before it ends.  I actually don't even want DCA to break the streak on this one if its going to be marginal and melt overnight.  Less to complain about next year.
