I am 100% certain we get more than 2". How much more will depend on  how lucky we can get later. 12-4 should be prime time for rates.

Looking at radar, seems like all the good bands are popping to the south of us.  It is what it is at this point I guess.

Can't help but feel Lucy pulled the football again.

yea this is rough sledding.  i'm about ready to stick a fork in this one.  pretty much a major bust so far this way.

I'm a smuck who doesn't know anything, but I mean, it's going on 2 hours of steady snow here and it's not accumulating at all, really.   If it does this all day, I won't make 2 inches.

About to call time of death on it myself and just enjoy looking out the window at snow and a free day off.

This is what I get for trusting the NAM, isn't it?  The grass is sticking back out again.  1.75" overnight down to maybe 0.5" now from rain.  If this holds up, the Christmas eve storm will win out as my largest accumulation at 2".  That's kind of a sad thought.  Time to look at more pictures from Virginia.  I'm getting jealous, you guys.

This is playing out like the models were a few days back that showed Richmond cashing in. The models that were showing that did so at the expense of Cent MD, especially over toward Balt and north.

Its great for Richmond peeps (except for RTutton, I now will actively wish him ill for snow going forward), but has probably come at our expense up here.

Yup-- something was clearly missed by the models in the short range for Richmond to be experiencing what they are right now, so I guess I'm just going to wait and see if there are any positive surprises late afternoon. It sure looks that the best dynamics are much further south than modeled yesterday.

we just didn't have the temps with this one.  funny enough there was some kid on here last night who got blasted for going with a low forecast.
