Kmlwx
really picking up here now. Less rain mixing now (maybe none at all). The flakes have gotten larger too so I can actually see them. Maybe I told my boss the wrong decision. Maybe I'll go the bipolar route and now say I'm not coming. Still nothing on the road here (dead end street seldom used) or driveway, or walkway. Getting good tho

Ji
Lol @capitalweather: Radar quiet around DC, even birds chirping. What's going on? Real storm hasn't even started but will soon: http://t.co/3DOjQFka3D
MidlothianWX
What an incredible bust down here. AKQ had me down for a dusting - now over 1" easily with mod-hvy snow and thunder.
snowfan
Any good weenie spots north of baltimore? Just filled up my tank heading north. Drive north to Shrewsbury just over the PA line. Park in the Wal Mart lot on top of the hill (to the left of 83 as you exit). Shrewsbury, New Freedom, Stewartstown all do very well in city marginal events like this. Shouldn't take you anymore than 25 minutes to get up there on 83 from Towson.
Mrs.J
Trash day today and we did not take out the can. After looking at the streets thinking I am going to drag it on out.

I actually was up there in the fall looking at foliage. Thank you.
H2O
Yup, pretty entertaining to say the least. But I don't care - Ive got my laptop set up to where I can look outside and I'm just gonna enjoy a day at home with the girl and "work" when I can I get a day and the kids are jacked up. mattie g
I'm getting really, really annoyed at the on-and-off flizzard going on here. I had 2.5" as of about 5:00, and haven't had anything new accumulate since then. F'ers.
RickinBaltimore
I keep hearing of this switch over to snow here, but I don't believe it...just a cold nasty rain all morning
Ike
While the actual accumulation isn't that impressive here, it's very obvious just how heavy this snow is. It hasn't rained near me yet, but there are huge, wet drops falling from every branch and the snow itself squelches on harder surfaces. If this actually were piling up on pavement, it wouldn't be much fun to shovel.

WeatherSeeksBalance
Nice big flakes coming down steady in Frederick, MD (near Ballenger Creek). I am optimistic that the storm will continue to ramp up throughout the morning.
Ike
so many people complaining It's worth remembering that we are in March of a pretty poor snow season. Maybe we're not all being buried alive, but it's still a rare event to see. Besides that, there's plenty of storm still to come for the area. Edit: Good lord, look at those flakes. It's been a while since I've seen them that size.

Mrs.J
Just took the trash out. Really did not feel like snow out there. Felt more like a damp rainy day. MY BYWS says 93% humidity out. All the closings make me chuckle. Where I grew up people would be questioning why schools and businesses are closed. Hope I have to eat my words later. mattie g
so many people complaining Count me in that group, even though I shouldn't be complaining since I have more than most people this far east!
Herb@MAWS
Have TWC on in background. Just heard my daytime snow forecast went down from 5-8" to 4-6". Neither would disappoint me. I had to have my NE.WX Contest forecasts for this storm entered by 10pm Monday. Locally, I went with: BWI: 7.5 IAD: 9 DCA: 3.5 I'm sure I'll bust for PHL and most points north as I was expecting a more ENE track from the mid-Atl coast on Monday evening. Mrs.J
Ok really need some input. Roads are clear, my husband works in Rockville and is debating whether or not to go down. If he goes down is this thing really going to get its act together and he have a crappy drive back or is what we are seeing is what we get.
