NattyBo
What time do you have to go in? Typical 9-5? We should hope that something improves wrt to roads shortly. I'm not so optimistic...tho I still think that we can verify accumulations on grass lol. Yeah. At least the wife (OPM) and kid (schools) are off today, but that almost feels like salt in the wound now...
Kmlwx
Yeah. At least the wife (OPM) and kid (schools) are off today, but that almost feels like salt in the wound now... It will be funny if it turns out schools could have stayed open. I am semi optimistic that I see road covered reports popping up on Twitter but not around me yet. Good luck! EastCoast NPZ
Watching TWC. Cantore doesn't look too thrilled that he was moved from Front Royal to DC. Al and Stephanie are live from what looks like the parking lot of the Hapmton Inn at the intersection of I66 and Rt 522 N. Heavy snow there (and here) but I haven't heard them say what was on the ground.
NattyBo
MoCo government closed so I don't have to go to work! Now for the "snow" part of the snow day I hope...
Bodhi Cove
G'mornin all! Eastern side of Balt. Co.- rain.... About to get ready for the commute across a wind warning Key Bridge to spend what appears to be a rainy day in Curtis Bay. Ha! Poet and didn't know it.. I hope you guys get hammered. However, personally I'm hoping my relief can arrive so I can get my azz home. I wanna see pictures of snowmen. Don't let me down gang!

vinylfreak89
Lots and lots of meltdowns. Wow... why do people do this to themselves. It happens in even some of our best storms. Its like they want the perfect setup with absolutely no worries. Why do we have dicey setups around here? Because of where we are. Storms are often transitioning and redeveloping at our lattitude, so we play with fire a lot. People should know and expect this by now, and not freak out every time things are slightly off modeled or don't look the best and rely on their instincts and good meteorology. If the modeled features were weaker, that is one thing, but we have a double closed contour 500 low with insane vorticity and -10 omegas overhead. Just relax, its coming

Bodhi Cove
Um if anyone thinks I'm having a meltdown they're wrong. I'm soo ready for Spring. And I'm also excited for everyone who has been let down by the lack of snow. I'm the designated rainer. Send the rain my way. I'll take it and the rest of you can get drunk on the white stuff. Seriously I hope everyone who wants it, gets 18 inches of snow.

It reminds me of the second Snowmageddon storm. People want to wake up and see a massive dumping, to the point they seemingly forget what the actual forecast that got them excited in the first place was. I just can't believe the immaturity: "I want my snow, and I want it now!"
mattie g
Pretty awesome to listen to the birds chirping while there's a couple inches of snow on the ground with more expected. The best of winter and spring in one day.

People want to wake up and see a massive dumping, to the point they seemingly forget what the actual forecast that got them excited in the first place was. I just can't believe the immaturity: "I want my snow, and I want it now!" It's understandable to an extent. Yes, the heavier stuff isn't supposed to have happened yet, but there was model consensus and good obs to make everyone suspect we'd have had plenty more frozen QPF by now. I'd like to see validation of government and school closings, if nothing else. I usually like the irony of schools closing when nothing much even happens, but I'd like for them to make the right decision for once. 6z NAM clown map has me in 15-20". Bust? Herb@MAWS
I'm teleworking today even tho FedGov is closed; that's fine by me. Who knows -- maybe t-work tomorrow too (?) if this thing can hang on into the pre-dawn hours. And I'm off on Friday. My band is playing at Nabb's Creek Dockbar on Friday evening, FYI, for any of the locals.

ohleary
Just drove in from Reston to College Park. Different worlds. Reston back/side streets snow covered, about 3" on grass/cars/etc, toll road messy, beltway in good shape though. College Park more like a dusting on grass/cars, mix rain/snow, more wet than snowy. Herb@MAWS
I haven't seen any evidence of rain mixing in since I got up, a little before 5am. I would say for the folks on east side of B'more... it's just a matter of time before rain mixes out. My ''eyeball'' guess is we're probably just under 2" OTG.
