weathercoins
Hey where on Georgia ave? I live near Georgia... howdy neighbor, Park+Georgia is probably the closest major reference, so right by you. But I work in SS so take Georgia for 5 miles and didn't see any salt down tonight...

SLPressure
Just woke up, looking for an epic 24 hrs! Good morning! And thanks for all the helpful discussion/explanations/weenie satisfying answers to all of our (I speak for many) questions throughout the last 24 hours. I am now going to sleep for a few hours and hope to wake up to some good times.
ravensrule
I think the smartest thing is to go to sleep for 3 or 4 hours now and then stay up for the rest of the storm.
SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Not a bad idea...... Was going to suggest going DC Cantore spotting tomorrow.. If we get 8+ inches I'm breaking out the snowshoes and going to Rock Creek.
MacChump
My best forecast for DC at this point is probably 4-6". But I focus on that city too much... Some other forecasts: - Roanoke: 1-3" - Philadelphia: 5-7" - New York: 1-3" - Boston: 4-6" - Portland: 2-4" I like it
stormtracker
the discussion was about DC streets which I believe are inside the metro area. He was talking about that goofy 15 year old from NC
terpsnation
Very very light sleet/snow in CP. Rather surprised, definitely thought I'd see a lot more rain before it switched.
Pityflakes
I wanted to stay up until at least we started getting some stickage but it looks like that will be a while still.

SLPressure
If we get 8+ inches I'm breaking out the snowshoes and going to Rock Creek. I was presented with a birthday present of snowshoes right after the 2009/10 season. They still have the tag on them. But not for long!
Kmlwx
only good storm is a hecs worth the crappy winters Starting to perhaps agree. We just need to train ourselves to wait our turn. Maybe we can get a good pattern going of 2-3 years off and 1 year on.
terpsnation
only good storm is a hecs worth the crappy winters Good thing we had to wait until March for this then, I suppose? If we had these temps in Jan/Feb w/ the amount of QPF we are about to get, I can only imagine how depressed the board would be. Then again, things have trended very nicely this afternoon/evening. clueless
The snow is sticking nicely to the grass. Streets in my neighborhood won't take long before they are covered as well. Our elevation really makes a difference.
MidlothianWX
Starting to perhaps agree. We just need to train ourselves to wait our turn. Maybe we can get a good pattern going of 2-3 years off and 1 year on. Be careful what you wish for. Since RIC became the new RDU, we have seen feast-or-famine to the extreme here. Not a single storm over 10-11" since 2000 at the airport (and that's with fairly accurate measuring/corrections) and nothing over 14" since 1983. I hope that climo line doesn't creep northward. Wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemies.

weathercoins
Was just talking to a friend if their kid will have school tomorrow in Silver Spring area.
