Subtropics
I think LWX is at the point of being irresponsible (For certain locations). People are going to be shocked tomorrow. I tip my bottle of water to you all on this fine evening

stormtracker
I think LWX is at the point of being irresponsible (For certain locations). People are going to be shocked tomorrow. I tip my bottle of water to you all on this fine evening I think they are being cautious and rightfully so. No need to hit the panic button yet. I mean, they shouldn't have lowered amounts, but no reason to go up in a flash....
AJField
Key question here... Has DCA plugged in the heater on the snow measuring board they use there? It has been a few years...
Fozz
It forever amazes me the inability of forums all around the internet have to take into consideration that fact that opinions differing from experts, models, and other resources are okay and it doesn't have to be the generally accepted thoughts. I've given my reason about why I think DC will end up underperforming, but apparently that's not enough to dodge the attacks of people here. You guys have fun. Hopefully DC ends up with more snow than I think they will, it'd make a lot of people happy. you're 15?? LOL you've got lots to learn, kid. Don Cherry's Jacket
So, in the time it took for me to go to the Caps game, this forum melted. Okey dokey then.
wxtrackercody
you're 15?? LOL you've got lots to learn, kid. Doesn't everybody? I like how he comes in here with his whole act about how he's here in good faith...on the night of the actual storm with a forecast. I just thought I'd come and offer my opinion while getting to know people better. But apparently that's not welcome.
AJField
Winter storm Saturn. TWC just names s&!t whatever they want to. Do any other networks pick up this silliness and use that name?
thunderman
Based on the fact that it's already snowing up to 66 in spots EAST of the mountains. I am going out on a limb here and saying TWC may be on to something. Stop looking at the models, we have real data now.

KAOS
you're 15?? LOL you've got lots to learn, kid. Coming form another subforum to say how the storm is going to underperform!?!? ....probably not a good idea. Anyone with a grain of common sense/life experience would realize that is not going to go over well. Especially without facts. Posting the annoying LWX snowfall map probably did not help. Anyone with a grain of common sense/life experience would realize that is not going to go over to well. Especially without facts. Posting the annoying LWX snowfall map probably did not help. It has been a few days since I posted in a different subforum. And even then, I just started posting on Americanwx last month. I presented why I thought DC would underperform. I think the snow that falls will be very heavy and very wet. Water-laden aggregates do not accumulate easy...at least, not as easy as a drier snow. That's a perfectly good explanation for a lower snow total. ...and since when was posting the latest forecast from an official source a bad thing? wxtrackercody
you came in and offered a big bunch of stupid, none of it backed up by science, and contrary to the actual facts. smells like deliberate trolling to me. Scarlet Pimpernel
Crazy that we'll be breaking the streak with a big storm like this. Should be a fun upcoming 24 hours This was my hope all along, to blow it away, rather than squeak by with barely over 2" and say we finally got more than 2. If this pans out, it would be like coming out of an awful batting slump with a 4 home run game and 10 RBIs or something like that.

real
Topper Shott on Chan. 9, who was already pretty bullish, just issued his final map.
