And then shows RPM giving D.C. 18-24 inches.

Lmfao.

I know, WTF, since I am a guest here and this is my first winter storm in the area is LWX conservative or they usually pretty accurate?   I know 18-24 isn't going to verify but that's a big delta from 4-6 LWX currently has and a huge difference.  4-6" won't be a big deal with warm roads but 12" will be.

Sue Palka on Fox 5 said she will upping snowfall totals and warned models now showing this "will be a big deal" for DC.  (She upped to 4 to 8 for I-95 corridor, and 8 to 10 in most of Montgomery and Fairfax). Not sure what it was before

It forever amazes me the inability of forums all around the internet have to take into consideration that fact that opinions differing from experts, models, and other resources are okay and it doesn't have to be the generally accepted thoughts.

I've given my reason about why I think DC will end up underperforming, but apparently that's not enough to dodge the attacks of people here.

You guys have fun. Hopefully DC ends up with more snow than I think they will, it'd make a lot of people happy.

I'm not saying the event will end up "a slushy mess" I'm just stating that's what having a very wet, heavy snow in a marginal temperature environment tends to bring. I do think there will be substantial snow in DC, but probably not over 6" like most are indicating, and definitely not over 9", "dude".

Maybe not in DCA, but the upper hills of DC and certainly to the west, that's absolutely possible.
