BristowWx
It's amazing how this forum's mood swings from one model run to the next. I thought half of the MA forum would be in a drunken stupor by now after the 18z GFS. Now the NAM comes in with cooler temps, and that party is back on. I pray that the 0z GFS follows the NAM, and that warm stuff was just a blip. That NAM run is one for the books...I mean that represents something we could only dream about 90 percent of the time...closed contours off ORF...850s below freezing...slow mover...purple QPF over most of the area...wow
ravensrule
is that a picture of snow from a jail cell? No it is just hiding one of your clients faces.
nj2va
Dunno. Harvard, MIT, more snow, preprier que nous. Who the **** knows? Those seats on the Green Monster are probably the best seats in baseball. They got that at least.
87storms
Some of you guys b**ch and complain too much. It's a hobby. Let people enjoy it a little. Omg a few posts from excited weenies...how painful. This board without weenies would be like a team playing in front of no fans. Every storm it's the same whining...if you can't sift through posts then that's a personal problem not a weenie problem. mitchnick
Mitch do you have BWI soundings? NAM looks pretty chilly for everyone, not to mention moved the 2+" through most of MD. this is only out to 48 hrs, but everything after it is all snow because hr 48 is definitely some questions around hrs 36 and 42, but I "think" is stays all snow http://68.226.77.253/text/NAM80km/NAM_Kbwi.txt

87storms
there is a reason there is a banter thread and an analysis thread. it's only basic courtesy to post in the right thread. Just let the mods do what they do. I appreciate the met analysis but I also like seeing the enthusiasm come out. It's not like there's pages upon pages of trolling. I find the threads very readable and love the play by plays. Anyway I don't even wanna talk about this anymore. I love snow and I'm not gonna let tightly wound folks take that from me. I'll do my own thing before I let that happen.

The play-by-play is fine but when we have 3 people saying south and 2 people saying north it is extremely annoying after a while. If the differences are so tiny they probably don't need mentioning until the run has gotten later on.
orangewx
Good luck up there guys. I will be enjoying my mid to upper 80° temperatures here in south texas. Hopefully you all can squeeze in one last event before the dreaded march heatwave.

Four Seasons
Fox5 has 2-4 for DC/Fairfax/middle Prince William, northern PG; 4-8 for northern PW, southern MoCo and up towards Baltimore; 8-12 for northern MoCo up towards Hagerstown and parts of Loudoun, and 12-15+ for the Blue Ridge. They also mentioned the possibility of rain mixing in the DC area.

real
Fox 5 is awful. This!! Will never forget Sue Palka completly downplaying Feb. 5 until that night, when tornado warnings were going up across coastal North Carolina and 2 inch an hour snows were moving into DC. She seemed confused and admitted, live, on air, as she stared at the radar, something like the "storm is strenghtening far more than I expected." nj2va
Very few in the model thread do It must be the cognitive fixing internal thermal profile fixation issues. And its south. Southernly west. MidlothianWX
Come on up Jake Wish I could. My dad's office is in Fairfax and he'll be up there for a few days this week. Too bad I have other commitments. Good news is I'll be off to a four-year school this fall which could put me anywhere from Fredericksburg to Blacksburg. Basically, more snow any way you look at it. TalcottWx
I was going to post that question in the model thread - anyone know the answer to that? It's probably related to how much the GooFuS amps up the storm more than the NAM

She seemed confused and admitted, live, on air, as she stared at the radar, something like the "storm is strenghtening far more than I expected." Oh, I distinctly remember prior to 12/2009, Sue Palka live on air, declaring "we aren't getting a big snowstorm, don't believe the hype on the weather blogs." 24 hours later, she backtracked so fast I'm pretty sure she did a flip on air!
