eurojosh
NAM clownmaps still only showing 3-5 inches across DC... the temps seem warm for the first half, too. http://raleighwx.americanwx.com/models/nam/18znamsnow_NE060.gif
mattie g
This may be the all time nam'ing that all future nam'ings will be measured up to. I've been pretty calm and fairly unconcerned about the whole storm until around five minutes ago. I got seriously NAMed.

mdhokie
Now that we are getting closer and closer to event start, I'm getting concerned about temperatures. Its going to be pretty painful if east of 95 gets 3" and 40 miles west has feet of snow. Might need to road trip it to my parents in Haymarket. mappy
Thread is getting cluttered with bad analysis. Let the mets do ptype and sounding analysis. It was nice while it lasted, Bob. Good try

Bob Chill
It was nice while it lasted, Bob. Good try It worked for the most part until we got nam'd. Getting nam'd is serious business. But the thread gets embarrassing when people who don't know enough to talk about this stuff start talking about it like they know how to talk about it and stuff. jnis
1st call I loved that storm! The rates were insane and the snow accumulated so fast. I'll take it!

Mrs.J
The pressure in my head is starting to build. Usually 24 hours out of an approaching low this happens. Going to write down this time to see how close I am to that time frame.

mattie g
I'm generally unconcerned about lurker weenies who jump head first into a discussion and analysis thread during a storm, but it's gotten pretty funny in there now. I realize it's a function of not having had anything to get excited about in a long time, but still...people need to control themselves. At the very least, weenie out in the banter thread! MN Transplant
Oh...and I'll say it again, but this time in here. The UVVs at 45 are ball-droppingly sick. It has been a long, long time since I experienced thundersnow. I'm pretty sure it was mid-90s in Minnesota. I want some.
Crazy4Wx
Quick Air Travel question. I was supposed to fly from BWI to MHT (Manchester, NH) on Thursday Night or Friday Morning. Does anyone see that happening?
Sparky
I loved that storm! The rates were insane and the snow accumulated so fast. I'll take it! Definitely one of my most memorable storms for the lightning and thunder and heavy snow . Winds kicked up a bit too for a few hours at least. MN Transplant
Quick Air Travel question. I was supposed to fly from BWI to MHT (Manchester, NH) on Thursday Night or Friday Morning. Does anyone see that happening? Probably ok, unless somehow this trends even further to the north up there. I presume that Manchester knows how to handle some snow. snowfan
I'm thinking 6-8" IMBY. That seems to be more than what many services are forecasting, so we'll see how that does.
Bob Chill
It has been a long, long time since I experienced thundersnow. I'm pretty sure it was mid-90s in Minnesota. I want some. Had it a few times here. The one in the 80's was sick. I wasnt just a couple flashes and rumbles. It was off and on for a couple hours. I know I do need to tell you this but....were kinda in a good spot this time. When the slp gets just east of dc it crazy how much lift and forcing ramp up and basically right over our heads as modeled. I'm super stoked right now.
