I highly recommend clicking this link http://weather.cod.edu/buildmap/nexrad_build.php  and running the full loop for AKQ (closest dot to richmond).

Great stuff. Really shows the birth of the cylcone and intensification process.

That is great to watch! Thanks!

I think the clown maps were probably pretty accurate, maybe a tad on the high side. If you want to see any accumulation you need to be west of a line going vertical through DC.

.

Yeah everyone here says to disregard them but the GFS map repeatedly showed that exact scenario happening.

Thanks! Have you gotten any accumulation in Rockville? I'm hoping we can get into a good band at some point.

It really needed to be sticking to grass better by now to get into the higher forecast range around DC metro. It was never going to be a big road accumulator based on temperatures, but I thought grass had a chance. The precip is there and building, but temperatures just aren't cooperating. It's going to snow for about 8 more hours--- hopefully we can get at least 3" into DC and 5" here.

Am I really going to break the 2" streak here? I'm beginning to doubt....

I am 100% certain we get more than 2". How much more will depend on  how lucky we can get later. 12-4 should be prime time for rates.

Hello from RVA! 2 inches in the Fan, 1 mile west of VCU.

And this is for the DC/Balt crowd thinking that the MA forums are exclusively for them. This was taken 30 minutes ago when we were just starting to accumulate.

Thanks, DT.

But if you really want to go there, you're not really hurting the feelings of those of us that have more snow than you.
