Chitown Storm
Radar just exploded to the south of the pseudo dryslot over central/north central IL. sure did. That was fast. Absolutely pouring small flakes here now. Need the dendrites to increase in size otherwise its going to take a long time to accumulate.

Need the dendrites to increase in size otherwise its going to take a long time to accumulate. yeah...dendrites should slowly increase in size with a window later this afternoon for quality. Either way, the radar looks great...much better than even the 12z NAM is showing,
MidwestChaser
Teachers are pissed here, largely because 95% of the surrounding suburban schools are closed.

LizardMafia
Probably doesn't matter really. Temps should crash when it matters. 12z NAM is pretty interesting for central IN. This isn't all snow, but a good bit of it is...hopefully it has a clue. 3:5 12z NAM QPF.gif Just glad that this is happening this Tuesday and not next Tuesday.. If we don't get something out of this, then we definitely have some bad mojo on our side..

A-L-E-K
solid SN .... 90% dime size dendrites....accums coming fast Ramping up quickly downtown as well..hopefully these rates will be enough to cool us down to freezing which is the last hurdle to a major event for the urban lakefront. Radar looks top shelf.

If we don't get something out of this, then we definitely have some bad mojo on our side.. In the end, I still expect the worst case scenario for LAF. It's what we do...fail miserably 90% of the time. 12z NAM pushes totals close to a foot for far east central Indiana. 3" or so for LAF. Sounds about right. Chitown Storm
absolutely sweet snowfall right now. Flakes jumped in size and no wind to speak of. Pictures wouldn't do it justice. Almost perfect setup right now, and it should continue for quite some time with the returns backfilling to the west/southwest. Glad I took the day off
McDude
Moderate snow. Visibility Reducing sharply.
Chicago WX
Cant get to the models, the "MIE crush job" assume is near a foot as you mention? Probably something on the order of 6-8" for MIE. Jackpot looks just south of there. This is all verbatim off the 12z NAM clown map.

TimChgo9
Down to 31 now. Still no wind to speak of, however. Winds are ESE @ 5 or so. Rates are increasing, as is flake size. Driveways, sidewalks, parked cars, everything is coated with snow. Visibility is dropping off, can't really see the back of the school from my 2nd floor, the school is only about 1200' away. Everything looks nearly ideal except surface temps but we appear to be making progress there. Snow just now starting to accumulate on the Wolf Point parking lot. Chicago WX
Looking at dual pol on on the ILX radar, changeover line is the northern part of Champaign county. -RN and up to 36/34 at CMI. Snow to the west of there though.
A-L-E-K
30 dbz pushing into the loop. Quality flake size but certainly not parachutes. Radar shows some great back building of these quality returns. Should be locked and loaded for a nice stretch.
