Brick Tamland
I don't get how it can keep going north with the blocking.
burgertime
@84 it's about in the same spot as 18z was.
Cold Rain
I don't get how it can keep going north with the blocking. The blocking only blocked this weekend's storm from forming. It was always going to abate before the next system came in.
rduwx
I bet the Mods had fun with those! There weren't a lot of mods back then. You also could get by w/ a lot more then. There were constant arguments going on. It was hilarious!
burgertime
Why are northerners coming in here to root for it north? Go back to your own threads. This run says congrats DC. At least it gives me some snow showers.
jaxjagman
@84 it's about in the same spot as 18z was. just more would up,phase even looked better
superjames1992
This actually may work out better than 18z for MBY. Good deformation zone going on in the northern Piedmont at 87. Go figure.
Shawn
Is it just my newbie skills, or would VA maybe not be cold enough in a lot of areas this run?
Brick Tamland
The blocking only blocked this weekend's storm from forming. It was always going to abate before the next system came in. I thought the whole key was the blocking that would keep it down south. We heard the past week or so how awesome the block was supposed to be. Weather Fanatic 97
This isn't your storm and why are you in the SE forum telling it to go north when us folks down here don't want it to? Anyway, looks good for VA still.. NC doesn't. Sns look to good with exception to the mountains. . You got so lucky that ULl was further west in new england this run
burgertime
Go North baby lol slams DC going due east. Go back to Brooklyn.

BIG FROSTY
This actually may work out better than 18z for MBY. Good deformation zone going on in the northern Piedmont at 87. Go figure. Yep still a little hope here, pretty nice band!
packbacker
What a run for the MA, now they need to worry about a north trend. They still have 3+ days.

Cold Rain
I thought the whole key was the blocking that would keep it down south. We heard the past week or so how awesome the block was supposed to be. It's not that awesome. It's been my biggest concern the whole time....being over-modeled (strength-wise) in the LR. superjames1992
ULL placement really ends up being pretty identical to 18z in the end. No real reason to panic yet, IMO. Just 50 miles south and it's all different.
Nraleigh
This is a VA storm. Robert posted a map on his wxsouth facebook page which indicates that as well. I give up. Guess I will just watch the video from VA on the news.
Disc
Talk about long duration event for DC. Still light snow going @102hrs. Congrats.
Bevo
It's not that awesome. It's been my biggest concern the whole time....being over-modeled (strength-wise) in the LR. I still blame the PAC for being the ghost in the machine for two straight winters. I've obviously done better this year, but as I stated last week, I do not trust those extreme solutions in such a fast flow.
Brick Tamland
It's not that awesome. It's been my biggest concern the whole time....being over-modeled (strength-wise) in the LR. I guess there is always something. It's getting so it doesn't even matter what happens until 24 hours out. It never seems to work out for us if it looks good in the long range. superjames1992
I'm kind of surprised the surface low pressure doesn't bomb out a little more with that ridiculously strong ULL.

GaWx
0Z GFS clown actually better than the 18Z version for Superjames to Charlotte. Superjames gets 4" on 0Z vs. <1" on 18Z. Charlotte ~1" 0Z vs. very little on 18Z.

Cold Rain
It seems like the thermal profiles would be all jacked up anyway with that stupid transfer/Miller B thing that happens. The clown maps look pretty for parts of VA, but wouldn't there be a warm layer in there somewhere?
