Denver Vs Philly in March...

Denver gets the best of all worlds.  They can have occasional warm springlike days throughout the winter, and they can snow incredibly late in spring and early in fall (in fact, I think the large majority of their snow falls in spring and fall rather than "winter").  I was there at the very end of June in 2001, and it went from mid-90s with wildfires to mid-40s and rain (with heavy snow in the foothills) in a day.  Pretty cool stuff.

Average daily max and min at Philadelphia for March starts at 48/30 and finishes at 58/39. When anomalies appear to get "bluer" in the extended range, that doesn't actually mean we are getting "colder" as some mets in the media have suggested (our typical cold mongers). It really gets on my nerves when I read something like that, haha...

Hi gang!

We've had 3.0" of snow at KBOX since last night.  That brings our seasonal total to 65.2".  Amazingly, we've had 52.4" since February 1, which is the same for many locations across SNE.   The 65.2" is currently #4 snowiest season since our records began in October 1996 (snowiest is 97.6" in 2004-05).

Set a station record for 24 hour February snowfall...21.0" on February 8-9 (7 AM reading since we are now a co-op site here).  Also now 5th snowiest month on record of 29.6", and so far March is 22.8", which is 8th snowiest month.  Hmmmm...interesting...
