Last time we got a snow so good into the city in late Mar was 1990. A tiny bit more fell in April in the city. Our last three accum came on the 7th tho so it's maybe a false signal. ;). No 1"+ storms since 1924 so I'd be kinda bearish. Could be a fun target though..

1924? Things have changed. 1990 was nice. Lasted 5 seconds.

Although if there remains a threat, it would be a big splash for the local mets. Unless DPRK decides to lob some junk at us. Then forget the weather.

heh, I've been watching. Let's be honest with ourselves here. April snow requires luck, timing, perfection, and everything else that you can think of. I'll have little to say until we're inside of 84 at least. Prob more like 72. A bird fart can screw this one up.

LOL - Like that is not every scenario around here! Maybe in winter it is a dog fart, but seriously - we are always trying to get things perfect. Where as n Boston a bird farts and you get a foot of snow!

Dulles got 4" in1990

For those who weren't in this area or not yet yet born in 1990, the cherry blossoms were at their peak on March 15th -- the earliest ever. High temperatures from March 12-16 at DCA (IAD) were: 89 (89) on the 12th, 87 (87) on the 13th, 86 (88) on the 14th, 81 (82) on the 15th, and 81 (81) on the 16th. Then, between March 20th and April 7th, there was measurable snow at both airports on the 20th, 24th, 25th, and April 7th, with measurable snow at IAD on April 4th and 6th as well.

Who the f are you? Obviously not the real Ian. Reminds me of thr bizarre world Seinfeld episode.

This could be the best event of the year for us. Step up to the plate.

I remember that storm well.  Rec'd 6+" in Warren Co (~ 1100').  Early evening rain that tuned to snow overnight.  It was pretty elevation dependent as I remember driving through Front Royal on my way to work in Middletown and being in awe as to the difference in accumulation.  By the time I got to Middletown there was next to nothing.  I'd just started working for that company less than 2 months earlier and had to answer questions as to why I was late.  I told them I was late due to the snow and I don't  think too many people believed me.  Somewhere I have pictures of that snow.  It was the heaviest, lumpiest snow you could imagine.  If I can find the pics I'll scan and post them.
