One bright spot this year is that we've had exponentially more modeled snow than last year

Almost everyone did better this yr too. DCA is the worst. This winter has actually been pretty awesome of you count snow in the air as a win.

good point. the smart play here is to ditch the ruler for a stopwatch. Hours of snow falling is the new benchmark. Stickage is totally optional.

Funny you mention that. I was just thinking about that today. I wish I had kept a count of the number of days with snow in the air.

As for the winter, it's been the best winter out here since 09-10. It easily out did 10-11 which was a winter that missed by about 3 eyelashes of being a great winter.

Edit: it's just been a damn shame how unlucky you guys have been.

Perhaps, but counting snow in the air as a win is lowering our standards way too much. We're not Boston, but we're also not RDU (though another year of the streak and I'll start to reconsider that ;) ). Missing out on the early Feb storm and then having a major bust to begin this month only made matters worse.

I get what you're saying though, I'm just venting/frustrated I guess. I agree that seeing model snow is part of the excitement, so I'd say this winter has been better than last, although pretty much anything could beat last winter. ;)

I'll save some people some time. Euro caved to the gfs with the overrunnering. Light rain, yay!

Gfs and euro agree that we are below normal and dry as a bone after the cutter. Euro showed some sort of impulse rotating around next week but it would be sprinkles/flurries. Could be another stopwatch event.

No miniskirts in sight.
