Geos
So these massive amounts were isolated to Mt. Geos/Racine? ORD/MKE relatively screwed? Did the swath of heavy accums extend inland or were they localized to the lakeshore? Basically from Waukegan, IL to Sheboygan, WI - within 10 miles of the lake got hammered. NAM hires actually got it right! Down to freezing now, snow sticking to pavement more easily. Snow seems to be increasing again, lol.
Ottawa Blizzard
Snow starting to stick to my driveway. Consolation/salvage segment of the system has begun. So these massive amounts were isolated to Mt. Geos/Racine? ORD/MKE relatively screwed? Did the swath of heavy accums extend inland or were they localized to the lakeshore? 12z Canadian precip forecast has snow continuing through until midnight. snowstormcanuck
Sheboygan which is north of MKE got destroyed , almost 17" with 5 foot drifts. The lake shore counties did very well, seems like 10+" is very common around the area but tapers off further inland you go. And only about 8" in Milwaukee. Bit of a screwhole relatively speaking but I'd take it. Looks like the NAM with that lake enhancement verified well for you guys.
RCNYILWX
Good band just came through here, only stuck to yesterday's snow, but solidly SN with nice dendrites.
WestCoaster
A nice banding feature setting up right over Toronto. Assuming there's no longer a mixture downtown they should be getting it good. Ha! If only. Seems to be the theme for this storm. Mixing downtown. Nothing accumulating, too wet. Temperatures at +1.

Light snow/drizzle downtown T.O right now. Radar is being betrayed by this storm.

Did the swath of heavy accums extend inland or were they localized to the lakeshore? It's a relative thing, ORD had by far it's single biggest event of the season and tied with 1/20/12 for the biggest since GHD. But Mt Geos has had as much snow with this storm as ORD has had this month, which is still the 17th snowiest on record in Chicago.l

I thought the models were too bullish with the lake effect but it looks like the snowfall amounts that they projected will come pretty close to verifying. Actually a couple more tenths and I'll break the 36.4" I had that month! I just went out driving around town and the roads aren't bad, but parking lots and alleyways are packed with snow and slush. Need waterproof boots today, otherwise you're asking for wet feet! Just had another wave move through, which seems to have some gustier winds with it. Briefly reduced visibility down to 1/2 mile or so.

We're hoping to do a map of the coop snowfall amounts when the snowfall season ends, to show the crazy north south gradient in the LOT CWA. If you count the snow that fell after 6am today as part of the same event, this storm actually is the single biggest since GHD for ORD.

Was one hell of a storm for you. You got about what I got with the GHD storm lol. I don't know, I shoveled about 6 inches and could not imagine shoveling the pile that Geos has. Luckily got a buddy who stops by with a plow and does the driveway, so only gotta do the sidewalks.

So the system snow ended at 7am technically. I don't think the snowflakes have ceased falling here at all since 12:20pm yesterday. That deformation band back built last night before I went to bed and must have hovered in the area for awhile. I think it's safe to say this corner of the state is the snowiest! haha 36.6" here this month, 44.3" through 4pm today this season.
Ottawa Blizzard
Last I heard from OB he had 7". 10 miles made or broke this storm. Yeah, 7". weathergy
It's been absolutely ripping here for the last few hours. I'd say I've got around 2-3" inches from this intense band that refuses to move.

You got about what I got with the GHD storm lol. Thanks! Most impressive storm since GHD! I would have never thought that this winter had it in itself to produce two 10" snowfalls here! I also wouldn't have believed early yesterday that the NAM/NAM hires was going to be right for picking up on that lake enhancement. (RGEM did good too at the end) I knew something was up after the EURO had like 3 wet runs in a row. Got a strip of snow about 3 feet wide along my driveway that I don't plan to touch anytime soon. Got plenty of room to get out.

IWXwx
I have been busy and haven't had much time to follow this storm vicariously through those who got a good hit. It looks like they should open a ski resort on Mt. Geos. Congrats!

Cyclone- Biggest storm this year? Snowing good here the last hour and is sticking to the secondary roads... Yep, beat the Dec20 storm by 2". Wouldn't mind another snow system or two, but now that I got my "fix" I'm ready for severe.
