TimChgo9
Last hour or so: Started as snow, changed to rain, changed then to some "pingers" then, wet, heavy snow flakes, and now it appears to be a light rain at the moment. Temps got to 34, and are now slowly backing off. down to 32.7. Just went to the window. Looks like a rain/snow mix for the moment. Winds are E @ 11. hawkeye_wx
3-5 inches has now fallen in the band through waterloo while the first flake is still hours away from Cedar Rapids. Amazing.
SchaumburgStormer
Ripping all snow. Starting to accumulate. With the wind I have a very snowglobe look outside.

Geos
you pretty much live in WI so, that makes sense Hopefully that radar is up for the job today. "knock on wood" According to that radar the precip is up to the Great Lakes Base in N. Chicago.
A-L-E-K
back to light rain now...hard to tell but looks like some dry air eating away at the band over eastern IL / western IN

Chicago WX
back to light rain now...hard to tell but looks like some dry air eating away at the band over eastern IL / western IN IWX and IND radars look fine. Back edge of solid returns moving through LAF though. Pretty spotty returns beyond that.
hawkeye_wx
Winter storm warning just issued for Cedar Rapids to Dubuqe, raised us to 5-8 inches.... no doubt based on the wet 12z models.
Hoosier
12z NAM/GFS bring some decent precip in here tomorrow...GFS around .25 and the NAM around .4. Temps look cold enough to ensure that whatever falls should be snow but of course the harder part is figuring out how much of that will stick. Pretty spotty returns beyond that. looks like around 4-5 more hours of decent returns here before that edge spins up this way...we're going to have to flip quick others we may not see an inch. (loop location) Wrigley cam shows flakes mixing and wife says it's snowing a few miles north of there.
