Love getting into a hot car via the March sun. Makes these chilly early spring days easier to handle. Crocuss have bloomed this past werkend, but this persistant chill has stopped their progression. Robins are beeboping around outside. Many hints of spring minus the chilly air. Wont be long until the tulip pop.

Nothing really popping here yet. Red-winged Blackbirds are about the only sign of spring right now here (besides the obvious higher sun). There were a few Robin's last Friday, but I haven't seen any since - any open ground was frozen over like a rock after last night's cold (no worms). At this rate the Daffodils won't be up until next month! ha

Very Wintry day today... wind howled all damn day.  At least the sun came out... high 25.

The drive was a disaster too.  Had to clear it beforeI could even get back up it.

Winter fun continues!!!

Nice yard you have too. Like the tree covered hill in the backyard!

65° here this time last year for a high. The 14th was the first 80° for many away from the lakeshore areas.

I took this pic and actually posted it around New Years day.  This is of the Rock just outside of town.  It was around 4-5' at this point, which is very low.  It's now flooding at about 16'.  That island with the trees on it near the bridge is completely under water.

The water would be several feet over my head in this pic right now.

How cool is it that you moved up there. I'm so jealous.  I make it up to Gaylord a couple times a year to snowmobile and I always leave saying, "I need to move here".  Family/job/etc has kept this from happening at this point.

Last of the snow melted today.  Pretty much bare out there now with just some piles.

Snow field really took a hit in the last week.  This time last week we had 8-9" on the ground.  The snow has retreated north of I-80 now...

Nice shot of the bubbling clouds with the snow squalls. About 7.5" of snow on the ground now. The snow yesterday melted off the areas that were bare or near bare from before, but it stuck well to the old dense snow pack all day. Neighborhood is about 90% snow covered right now. Only south slopes and steep slopes in general are bare.

Already down in the upper 20s. Another chilly night on tap.

Northern Indiana is nice, but living here is like a whole other country.... especially outside the "metropolis" of Gaylord. :D

Still adjusting kinda even after 6 months.

Massive snow totals..  I bet we see some good Mississippi flooding this spring...  My brothers own land north of here about 45 minutes and they were up there today and they could barely get around...said there is huge drifts in spots and probably close to 20 inches on the ground....   Said its amazing the difference between here and there.

I never really look close for signs of spring, so Im sure some shoots have come up like they always do and Im sure the birds are chirping, but all I pretty much see is a brown landscape with dormant trees, huge difference to the early greenup that started taking place last year in mid-March (first with the grass, then flowers, then trees).

Last 3rd of March is looking warmer, if not warm. Blocking will break down while the poor pacific pattern floods the CONUS with pacific air. Pretty much going to the plan.

Warmth the last third of March is going completely against every long term model Ive seen (euro weeklies, cfs weeklies, LR GFS all indicate winter holding firm).
