Well, if we have to sweat more snow......than so be it.....

I hate snow in March, just for the record.

For most of the next 10 day forecast, we are in the mid 30's to low 40's with one day in the low 50's.... just need more sun and less clouds.

I'm hoping for a cold spring just to see how long the UP can keep snowcover.

It will be hard to top the reports below...from 2008.  Note the 49" snow depth in Grand Marais on April 2.  I believe there was a huge snowstorm in the UP a few days before.  And look at the temps toward the bottom...-7 in early April.  The radiational cooling must have been phenomenal.  Gotta love the UP. :)

APX posted average last dates for an inch of snow on the ground and "on average" Whitefish pt's last inch of ground snow is April 23rd.

Gaylord April 10th

I have been in Maple City with 20 inches on the ground around April 20th 2008... Temps were in 50/60's didn't phase the snow. It was 20 inches of Ice. Never forget that.

Moderate snow in Crystal Lake. Caked onto trees and power lines. Pavement just wet but the start from scratch grass areas are whitening up.

Just had a pretty good downburst here too.

7" of snow here on the ground - not much of it was/is showing through. Especially after the snow this morning.

Unbelievable. Heaviest squall I have ever seen. Blew in like a wall of smoke!

Reminds me of February 11, 2003 when an extremely rare squall line barreled through during the afternoon.  The reason why it was extremely rare is that it was a convective squall line of snow.  I have never seen snow that heavy and visibility that low in my life.

EDIT: Back to work, the squall line on February 11, 2003 was associated with an arctic cold front.

Here is a radar image of the squall line as it barreled through.
