TimChgo9
Well, if we have to sweat more snow......than so be it..... I hate snow in March, just for the record. For most of the next 10 day forecast, we are in the mid 30's to low 40's with one day in the low 50's.... just need more sun and less clouds. Geos
I'm enamored by your sig writings. Yes, that is quite the signature piece! Better late then never I'd say. --- Next batch of snow moving this way. Wind chill running in the low 20s.
roardog
52 inches in Ishpeming! You gotta be kidding me! I'm hoping for a cold spring just to see how long the UP can keep snowcover.
weatherbo
I'm hoping for a cold spring just to see how long the UP can keep snowcover. I'm excited for lake levels. Superior is low but not MI/Huron low, so the overflow will go to Huron/MI which are already up off their Jan lows.
beavis1729
I'm hoping for a cold spring just to see how long the UP can keep snowcover. It will be hard to top the reports below...from 2008. Note the 49" snow depth in Grand Marais on April 2. I believe there was a huge snowstorm in the UP a few days before. And look at the temps toward the bottom...-7 in early April. The radiational cooling must have been phenomenal. Gotta love the UP. Just had a pretty good downburst here too. 7" of snow here on the ground - not much of it was/is showing through. Especially after the snow this morning. Blew in like a wall of smoke! uploadfromtaptalk1363129707415.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1363129755923.jpg Reminds me of February 11, 2003 when an extremely rare squall line barreled through during the afternoon. The reason why it was extremely rare is that it was a convective squall line of snow. I have never seen snow that heavy and visibility that low in my life. EDIT: Back to work, the squall line on February 11, 2003 was associated with an arctic cold front. Here is a radar image of the squall line as it barreled through.
