Turkeys up north have declined substantially.. The DNR is actively reintroducing turkeys up north to boost the population.

I have tons of turkeys near my home though, I would really like to eat one for thanksgiving instead of store bought.

they are in flocks here by the dozens.  I can drive the 15 miles to Charlevoix and see 200 or more some days.

I haven't eaten one,but I was told they are tasty...

Yeah lol some could be gravel roads

There's road in particular in a park in Kenosha County that is paved, but it might as well be a gravel road - it is so broken up. Road crews will need to resurface most of the road later on to properly fix it.

Bo- I saw a wild turkey in the city of Milwaukee last Autumn by UWM! There is plenty of them out there, no matter what the environment it seems.

Nice 35dbz lake effect band just moved through. Have a cm or two down already. Heavy wet snow coming down.

Was watching the RESCU cams on Allen Road. Looks like it's even sticking to the pavement.

btw...don't think it's LES as its origins are from the NE. Probably caused by PVA associated with a little mid level closed low dropping through the Lakes.

Yep stuck to everything really quickly considering its about 2C outside. Tapering off now but reminded me of the start of the storm last week.

It hit 70 here one year ago yesterday, and 67 one year ago today.  Hard to believe it can get that warm the way it looks outside right now.  What a difference a year makes.  A week from tomorrow one year ago we started a stretch of 6 out of 7 days above 80.  Highest temp for March so far this year has been 35 lol.

We're just starting on the consecutive days above 32° this month. lol

Departure is -7° so far this month. Tonight will lower it a tad.

Toronto to Ottawa crew might want to watch this system.

Haven't heard a peep from Hoosier since the evening of the storm (last login of March 5, 5:42pm). Hopefully everything is ok with him.

On a lighter note, a fraternity at Purdue made a snow penis sculpture...how original. WL police were not amused.

According to West Lafayette police dispatchers, on Thursday afternoon someone called to report a giant male member made of snow in front of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at 690 Waldron St.

I think this might be more interesting then a snow-penis...

Apparently, last night, a military aircraft discharged some chaff over SE WI and Lake Michigan. Must have been quite a bit of it to affect a radar signature like that. Chaff is basically thin strips of foil, something similar to the stuff mylar balloons are made out of.. Used to confuse radar.  Also, used by surface ships, and fighter planes to decoy radar guided missiles (note: I am not implying anything with that last statement)  Kind of interesting.....

Low 15° this morning. So far today is a lot cloudier than yesterday. Wind blowing off the water right now.

The GFS can kept trending that heavier rain east. Don't really need water in my basement this weekend!

I'm ready for some warmer temps too... Really want to get back out on the bike, but its going to be a sloppy mess for awhile.

This is always the time of year where I am tired of snow, but always hate to watch it melt away. On the bright side, most snow should be gone after this weekend, then as soon as we get a bit warmer, golfing it is!

Holding steady at 33° with a few wispy high clouds.

GGEM potentially sniffing out some snow in the area on Monday morning.

Edit:

EURO, NAM, RPM all on this snow scenario now too for N IL, eastern IA, parts of MI and most of WI. (maybe NW IN)

I've been watching this for a couple days but APX seems to have lost interest in this happening.

FWIW the 12z Euro and 18z NAM bring some accumulating snow to E WI Sunday night. The amount of  interaction the northern stream has on our southern stream system has a big impact on whether or not we see some snow.

Edit: 18z GFS shows the potential now. As you can see pretty big differences at the 500mb level from the 12z run.
