6.8" storm total as of 12AM 25th here.

1.3"  yesterday evening - 23rd/ early morning 24th before the sleet and ZR occured.  Then 5.5" today up until 12AM - 25th.

4 " of cement beneath that gives me a total  snowdepth of 10 now including  some compaction of the snow this evening.

-SN  VSBY > than 1 mile now.

30 F

Wow, Im 6 miles sw and got barely anything even though it snowed quite a bit, it was just a bit too warm, I got about an inch  at 700asl, my brother had basically a coating that melted at 450 asl two miles away.

Amazing event in ORH county...this was one of those events that reall favored north of the pike. I'm surprised he got that much too.

Dude if you were up in PSU in '08 that was the year if I remember correctly. It snowed like every day (so it seemed lol).

Yup, 07-08, non stop snow. Could count on a coastal running over the canal or something once per week dumping an easy foot plus. Then it seemed like a SWFE once or twice per week and maybe some weenie cold front/SW trough passage snow at least once per week.

Most snow I've ever seen on the ground, anywhere, anytime and Ive experienced plenty of blockbusters in SNE. Nothing compares to what I saw in Plymouth that year and thats just on campus which is torched by the damn steam lines. Neighborhoods and the forested hills were just unbelievable.  I did not get back from Christmas break until 1/30 or so and it was just epic for at least 6 or 7 weeks straight and there was already plenty of snowpack when I got there. Roofs collapsing left and right, nowhere to put the snow. That is my benchmark for winters, doubt I see anything like it again unless I move to a weenie location in northern New England.

I remember the first real warm day near 70F was around 4/15 or so and the snow was finally going down, exposed areas were almost bare but the woods right behind langdon woods had 2'+ on the ground. I remember taking a walk around the building and it felt like summer out front and then walking around back was like being in a freezer. There was even a microscale flow from the woods to the parking lot, haha. I think it was the beginning of May when the last trace of snow finally went away.

Don't get too down on Plymouth weatherMA, I keep saying it but you will have your time either in the next several weeks or most definitely in 1 or more of your 3 remaining winters. You are not going to be screwed in every storm, thats certainly not what 07-08 was like or 06-07 or 08-09 for that matter. 05-06 was kind of "meh" but my memory of that year is a bit foggy, I think we still did pretty good. Id bet as we get through March, you are gonna have a storm or 2 where the RA/SN line is between Tilton and Plymouth.

Sorry for the OT, I love to think back to the epicness of 08.

Will, was I too far south and not enough elevation? Where was the cutoff of decent accumulating snow, Charlton/Oxford?

Mostly too far south, but elevation and orographics played a role....S ORH county isn't as nearly as favorable for upslope on a NE wind as N ORH county is...so that played a factor too. But mostly I think it was because in your fairly far southern location, latitude hurt the most. You missed the best forcing.

What was your total there? Are you east to northeast facing? I am curious too. I am on that hill in E. Oxford not far from the Sutton line. This is very interesting.. the variances in ORH county. both N and S of the pike. I'm almost along it here.

I was reading Will's post and maybe just missed best forcing?

I had about an inch, I'm on top of a hill at 700asl facing west

Excellent and with a -NAO ahead too.  When the NAO trends up, I wonder if that may open up a window for a bigger event again?

ORH needs 3.3" before the month ends to get their 2nd snowiest Feb on record...the record is 55.0" in 1893, but I am quite skeptical of that record. However, I cannot completely disprove it, so I have to use it as the record even though I'm farily confident it's not logged correctly. It was a ridiculously snowy month regardless.

The 3.3" has a great chance on Tues night and Wed night to be surpassed. The 55" mark in 1893 though is out of reach I think. That is also the snowiest month on record for ORH regardless of any month.

You all can't squeeze out 13.1" more?

Wow,  we are so close to 2nd place.  I like the EC at 00Z.. it trender colder for the 27th, as you said.  All eyes turned to that to help boost ORH up.

I'm hoping they measure that snowfall correctly in this coming event... with no "M" in the snowfall data.  It seems they are better this year with the "M's".. have you noticed?     Since we are so close to second place.

BOS with 33.8" on the month now. ORH with 42.0" on the month now.

42.6 on the season to date. 2/27 should bring us to mid 30s roughly and then we'd have to have something unforeseen to tie/break the record. A great snow month nonetheless and I think we can do well in March this year.
