OceanStWx
Hard to argue with the Euro handling of this system, at least up this way. Never really backed off the QPF even when the surface low idea fizzled. Stayed the course. Now we've got a good 3" of paste stuck to every twig out there. Just eyeballing it looks like I'm pretty close to the Jetport measurement of 6".

ORH_wxman
Will, ORH had .93" liquid, was it 6-7:1 ratios, or was there some rain in there? I don't think the liquid equivalent is accurate. It has a lot of trouble in snow events...esp wet snow events.
ORH_wxman
I don't think the liquid equivalent is accurate. It has a lot of trouble in snow events...esp wet snow events. I should add that there was liquid lost to freezing rain, but not a lot.

Oh, okay, it seemed high but I wasn't sure. Thanks. I had .34" liquid up here and 4.3", so instead of 12:1, I thought maybe 10:1 but 6-7:1 seemed high. powderfreak
Some images from this afternoon while the snow was really ripping a couple hours ago: Nice. Love those big ol' flake snows. Plus caking snows are the best looking. Congrats. MaineJayhawk
jzinckgra - I know, the number of times I lose power per year must require two hands to count. I'm hoping to buy a house by summer and the first thing I'll buy other than toilet paper will be a generator. Here's a few pics I took when I got home of the field across my lil country road as nighttime approached.

My favorite type of snow for sure. It always "looks" more impressve too than the very dry powdery stuff when they plow it and make piles. Roads have become bad since the sun lowered....classic for late season event.

Hehe yeah... the 3" of wet snow we got up this way from this event has plowed into piles similar to the warning criteria upslope event we had last Wednesday/Thursday lol.
