Ginx snewx
2010 analog FTW., that is an absolute crush job for the MA on the GFS, and because it stalls that is also a damaging coastal.

CTWeatherFreak
it came north a tad in 18 hrs, lol Ya think? Perhaps, a wee bit, a hair, a tickle, a modicum, a tick, or yes, maybe even a tad...
Baroclinic Zone
it came north a tad in 18 hrs, lol Rollo, yes it's hard linked. Steve, sure it came N but it is the 18z run and it's not the same as the 12z/00z scoring wise, so i take it with a grain of salt. I'm riding the Ensm of the Euro and GFS with this one and they say swing and a miss for us. 80/20 against a hit for SNE. C.NNE is completely out of the game on this one. free_man
Just one small error in that block positioning or strength , nevermind the evolution of the system itself and it's a very different ballgame. Not a big deal error for D3-4 forecast, but the players need to show their cards soon. The Euro is famous for messing up heights in E CA, too. Not sure if that bias has been worked on/out. Baroclinic Zone
Also, QPF is the lowest scoring when it comes to output from a model, so in reality, I am looking at the 5h fields and working my way from there to 7h/85h.

A 96 hour forecast from an 18z run is definitely better than a 102 hour forecast from a 12z run. The way data is assimilated into the models now there's virtually no difference between 12z/00z and 06z/18z runs anymore.

Was going to say but did not want to come across as a mean person and offend sensitive folks. Unless there is a radical upsetting this looks great for interior MA folks north of RIC on the west side of a stalled out bomb, would be some epic upslope too. Hope they get a good one.
