Zeus
Are we talking about the 27th event in here or the Mar 1st event? I assume Mar 1st based on the description. Same here... but I have no clue what it shows since Euro maps on Wunderground don't go past 150.
mahk_webstah
Am I getting this right? Feb 27 is basically bleeding right into March 1? It just keeps snowing? Better clear out enough for me to land at Bos on the 28th. Does someone mind describing the evolution of this thing that sounds historic, that the models have been hinting at for like 3 or 4 days in a row? Is it a thing where the 27th stalls, or does the 27th do something that sets up a storm that starts on March 1?
stormtracker
Only 7 more days to hold. And we all know it's a lock at Day 7.
dryslot
I am talking the 27th but there does not look like much lag going right to Mar 1st up here
CoastalWx
Well for SNE it's 00z Friday and beyond but starts in NNE day 5. Classic.
ORH_wxman
The 27th and 3/1 events are def from different shotwaves. The 3/1 event uses the 27th ULL though to pinwheel underneath...but they are def seperate events.

ORH_wxman
Is 2/27 rain on the Euro also? Depends where you are talking about...CNE and northward it is all snow. For SNE, theres a front end thump in CT and a more prolonged in interior MA...prob never flips near Rt 2 and northward.
mahk_webstah
So Sunday is merely the appetizer, maybe some prosciutto with melon. The pasta dish comes on Wednesday, and it might be quite flavorful. A full on Veal Osso buco is served on Friday and Saturday, braised and slow roasted? Jeff why doesn't it stop snowing over by you? The upper low stalls and keeps it going? This sounds like fun and one or two more runs of this mean your old avatar might be back, with an updated map. jaf
So there is one storm around Wednesday, then a separate one Friday/Saturday?

After the 1st system moves thru, It looks like it wants to hang moisture back over this area until the next one rounds the ULL
Tornado Girl
So there is one storm around Wednesday, then a separate one Friday/Saturday? Yes, they will be formed from two separate shortwaves

This is true - I think the title should be changed to reflect the original thoughts from the other thread, when it was written that the 27th through the 1st ...yadda yadda yadda... And I think it is really kind of difficult to disconnect the two because as is...kinda can't have one without the other. Either that, to start a new thread entirely for the 1st. But the facets leading into that are sort of zygote here - if that makes no sense at all...

Amped
Doesn't look good now for those of us south of maine or east of the APPs. H5 low gets trapped pushes the Baroclinic zone offshore and ruins any chance of snow for at least a week. All this after maybe a 1" front end thump. CardinalWinds
.WEDNESDAY...SNOW OR RAIN LIKELY. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 30S. CHANCE OFPRECIPITATION 60 PERCENT. Reading the models verbatim, which is all I'm really capable of doing, it doesn't look all that great even up here...
ORH_wxman
Wow, pretty big shift in the ULL for this event at 84h on the Euro. Pretty far SE...not sure how much this will affect it later on.

CoastalWx
Really close to NBD though. If the flow is even a tiny bit faster..then it's days of flurries. Such potential, but such disappointment potentially too.
