What another bust this turned out to be though I am not suprised as this looked marginal even last weekend for this area. Hopefully we get rid of the "pack" with the 1" of rain as the snowcover is getting really beat up and dirty looking.

I don't think it ever looked good for your area.

I see that a new low seems to have formed in South Carolina the past few hours.  I don't remember seeing this on the models.  Is my memory wrong? Wasn't the discussion of a coastal transfer focused on it happening further north, if at all?

Yes it's going to melt some snow and the forecast high here is near 40F. I only have about 4-6" of snowcover left and it's melting more every day.

you may climb higher than that even. tough to say for sure but lower to middle 40s not out of the question. MAV/MET for BDL is like 48/49 for Thursday. maybe that's overdone a bit but that would still probably equate to lower 40s for you. and it'll be above 32F for a loooooong time.

Fantasyland will stay below freezing with rainproof snowpack.

As much as Kevin sugarcoats things...snowpack in NE CT in the hills isn't going to get oblirated in this...its not warm enough. A 36F rain won't do it. Even as it gets over 40F, esp on Thursday under the ULL, that wont do it either unless its 40/40 fog which it won't be. It will be a steep lapse rate environ with probably low to mid 30s dewpoints.

Its more like a steady drip rather than a snow pack obliterator. Esp if you get a couple inches of paste to start the whole storm.
