And the NAM pulls a head fake, and loses the secondary it created...re-strengthening the primary in the later panels. Weenie run for Chicago now. :D

Full run total QPF.

Yep...weenie run indeed and the way it handles the WAA band, you get the impression there are some even more weenie runs on deck.

Nice six hour thump for YYZ. 0.64" between 60 and 66 hours, per NAM soundings.

33.4º, 33.6º for LAF. Geez. Wrap around/backside delivers nicely though.

Again, it's the NAM.

Yeah, still a very nice run but with the refocusing on the primary storm, we get slotted after the thump.

Oh well, if it means LAF gets some snow, I'll find a way to live without the 0z weenie numbers.

That's most likely Croatia. In Croatia there is way less snowfall thn Bosnia.  Bosnia has some pretty good hills/mountains. Croatia is more flat,  however this year,  Zagreb has had an incredible amount of snowfall thus far. My uncles is from Zagreb, and he stated to me that he has never experienced a winter like this one, where they had several major snow storms (12"+). Some places around that area have received over 1 meter (3 feet-one storm)).

Well, I wouldn't worry about the second part. ;)

Think you're sitting pretty for this one at the moment. Hope the trends remain favorable.

NAM's showing surface wind gusts consistently at/above 35 MPH for msot of us, enhanced by Lake Erie and Lake Michigan.

Too bad it's a wet snow.

You can still have blizzard criteria with wet snow, this is getting close to that too. The models have really been showing the potential of some good winds with this.

I'm wondering if tree/power line damage is going to be a big concern. Large wet snowfalls are not that common here and I don't have much experience with them, so I'm not sure at what threshold (4", 6", 8", etc + wind speed) damage can start to occur.

As far as trees, I'm pretty sure the leafless ones can handle the heavy wet snow, wind or no wind.

As far as the pine trees and power lines, I'm not sure. They hold up pretty well when there isn't any wind, but given that winds could be pretty strong with this storm, power outages would definitely become a threat.

And yeah, Blizzard conditions can still happen with wet snow, it's just harder to obtain/maintain because cement doesn't blow/drift as easily.

Why would anyone move from such a beautiful countryside to Detroit?
