huronicane
He isn't working till tomorrow I believe. Meant to ask you what the buzz in like at LOT? If you're there that is. Izzi comes in and up goes a SWS. TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO HOVER PRECARIOUSLY CLOSE TO THEFREEZING MARK WHICH LEADS TO A HIGH DEGREE OF UNCERTAINTYREGARDING PRECIPITATION TYPE. PRECIPITATION COULD START ASFREEZING RAIN...SLEET...OR POSSIBLY JUST PLAIN RAIN...ESPECIALLYSOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80. ANY MIXED PRECIPITATION IS THEN EXPECTEDTO TRANSITION TO WET SNOW...WITH SOME POTENTIAL FOR LOCALLYSIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS.

Geos
then moves very slow across IL and almost stalls in nw IN. 7" Geos bullseye this run. Wish I could trust the NAM out this far though, lol. HPC outlook looks good for 4" at least. That's like "State of Emergency" in KS, no OK!

snowstormcanuck
How are temperatures? Good news: slightly below freezing from just after the pcpn starts through 12z/27. Generally -0.3c to -0.7c. Bad news: NAM has a bit of a cold bias at the sfc I've found. For example (albeit an extreme one), it kept the storm last Tuesday all snow. wisconsinwx
I think our best hope is actually a further north and east ejection, that way it won't blow its load west of the Mississippi River. Not sure it's actually possible at this juncture, but slower and more digging may not be the best thing unless it means it maintains its intensity longer. As is, a couple inches of wet snow is not the worst consolation prize. Those on the southern periphery who are snow lovers are liable to shoot themselves. Natester
I've said this before. Wet snow and strong winds do not mix well. Although the winds are going to be NOWHERE near as strong as on December 20, 2012, there might be some tree damage from this from the cement snow. Harry
I can't remember the dates of the top of my head, but a couple years back, we had a WSW for 4-8" of snow. There was a small chance that rain would mix in, but GRR discounted that it would last long enough to limit accumulations much. I was stoked... started off as light snow, then there was more "mist" than snow hitting the windshield. I figured it'd only last a little bit. I remember getting out of work and there was no snow to be found, except the old dirty piles. A moderate rain, and temperature in my jeep said 33. Haha, what a let down that one was. Winter of 05-06 had a couple of them.
Gilbertfly
Izzi comes in and up goes a SWS. to add... //OUTLOOK FOR ORD/MDW FOR 12Z MONDAY-12Z SATURDAY...UPDATED 00Z... MONDAY...VFR. Probably will give us a DAB with less than a quarter inch of precip, all slop. But I suppose you won't want to miss it weenie out with 4-8" from Davenport to Chicago (of concrete mixer). BeastFromTheEast
you need some sexual intercourse.lol Wildwisconsiweather: Even without the main slug of moisture from the storm(far from a given btw), we're going to get some solid amounts of the white-stuff .. The wraparound means business as Csnavywx has talked about.. Looks like a nice stretch of days with daily show shower potential as that giant slopgyre sits and spins in Atlantic moisture, cold cP air and lots of disturbances. Profiles look prime for ice crystal production with large/deep DGZs, so even light precip totals can do some damage.

Geos
you need some sexual intercourse. GGEM would be snow to a little sleet/drizzle, then back to snow for most of N IL. All snow in S WI by the looks of it. Maybe a quick thump in northern IN.
