Stebo
Nice Good sign for up here! Wildwisconsinwx: Did you even look at that radar shot TH posted? We are in solid position to see the official forecast (4-6") verify.. No he didn't, he is just trying to wet blanket his way to a pessimistic outcome. hawkeye_wx
Up to 3 inches here. We are getting a break now, but should be able to get another inch, maybe two through morning.
Chicago Storm
-SN started a short time ago. Back edge already approaching IKK.
Geos
Absolutely ripping right now in Aurora. Visibility is close to zero. I haven't seen it snow this hard since GHD storm. Starting to see a few bigger flakes now. Probably the beginning of the synoptic snow.

SchaumburgStormer
Annnnd more sleet. If I was in LAF and my GHD storm was sleet, I probably would have shot myself. Kudos to them for keeping the faith.

GordoFabulous
Some freezing rain mixing in with the sleet in Muncie. Very little snow, if any.

RCNYILWX
ripping nicely here with really good dendrites. Ripping here too and the wind is really whipping it around, feels like a bona fide winter storm. But only seeing occasional dendrites mixed in with much smaller overall flake size. cyclone77
Still raining down salt flakes here. May not make 2" at this rate.

Hoosier
I've had everything but the kitchen sink this evening. Haven't tried to measure but just eyeballing, I'd say the spotter reports are pretty close here.

tuanis
About a half inch down in the city. All snow and started accumulating right off the bat. At least we had the cold temps prior to this event.
Harry Perry
GRR is still thinking 1 to 2 inches. I will have trouble picking on them again if they get this one right. Hate to say it but they are probably being optimistic with 1-2".

cyclone77
Full dry slot moving into southeast Iowa and central IL now. Even though precip still falling here off and on, a portion of that dry slot is clearly slicing into a layer of the atmosphere here, and probably anywhere from about I-80 south. Precip has been light and showery here the last hour or so, and isn't really accumulating anymore. Full dry slot should reach us in another hour, and from then on out it should be just freezing drizzle and occasional flurries the rest of the way. Another sub 2" event in the books. turtlehurricane
I noticed Springfield flipped back over to snow at the last obs. Edit: Peoria SN. Full on snow storm here now! Already got a coating. Roads covered in Madison, really coming down. Not the biggest flakes ever but they are dendrites and the flakes/m^3 is impressive out there. .04" liquid so far. Also winds have gotten much lighter, it's calm at times. The combo of night time cooling and precip loading is probably to blame.

Harry
Dude, look at the radar... He has posted the same exact way since the day he has arrived. I highly suspect he is trolling. Harry Perry
I guess I'm just crazy, but I think some are really clinging to hope that many will magically receive 4-6" out of this.

Who here said 4-6? The issue is you claiming GRR is/will be wrong with their 1-2 call.
